I would look at that relay pack that's in the steering column.  The headlights route through there and that is a problematic area.  I've replaced mine twice for two different headlight issues.

I used some graphite lube on all the areas where the actuator rods rub and made sure everything was cleared out. ÂÂÃÃÂ...

Easy way to find it is to find the A/C lines, then push to open the valve.

The one that goes SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is the high side.

The one that goes shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  is the low side.

I know there's a Highway to the Danger Zone.

Pressures won't read right if the compressor is off.  I'd add freon.

Relay cluster in the steering column.

Pull out your tranny dip stick and give the fluid a sniff.  If it's got a burnt smell, time for a rebuild/replacement.  

Definitely sounds like it's slipping.

Let's see.  You were driving the car, when the transmission started to do really odd things, such as slipping, shifting erratically, etc...  Then it stopped moving.

Shot in the dark.  You need a new transmission.

That is a strange one, since Reverse and Drive in an automatic use many of the same mechanics.  Rebuild time.

Sealed is more acoustically accurate.  Ported gives you a false peak at the ports tuned frequency.

Windows should only work if the key is turned.   That would be very bad if they worked all the time!  What an easy breakin that would be!

Motor revving up but not going anywhere sounds like transmission to me.  Check the fluid.  (I'm assuming this is an automatic)  Your clutches might be fried too.  I've had that in a different car.  Gotta be a tranny issue, even if it's the torque converter.

I had the same thing happen to me, and it was the starter.  It didn't disengage, and so it fried.  No relation at all to the tranny problem though.  
You sure it doesn't smell like clutch?

Find the problem, don't try to cover it up with dry gas.  These engines run pretty clean, so there is a definite problem with yours.  My 69 Firebird 400 ran cleaner than your numbers!

If you do have the 87-90 interior, and if it is that switch, I have one sitting here at home extra. It also could be the relays in the column.  That is all tied into the turn signals and so forth.  Mine would turn on when I first started driving, then suddenly go off about 10 minutes later.  It was ...
