Re: 94-95 OBDI.5 TUNING AVAILABLE!

if i had to guess, i'd say you'll have less items in the tunercat TDF than the tunerpro XDF.... i want to say the TDF format has an item limit, or at least it did at one point in time.

Re: 94-95 OBDI.5 TUNING AVAILABLE!

yeah, it's kind of like the OBD2 calibrations for the 4T60E cars, the values exist and are usually even populated, just not used without an option selected.

Re: 94-95 OBDI.5 TUNING AVAILABLE!

it could be used to control a 4T65, but the actual purpose of them is for the 94-95 F-bodies with the 4L60E. for full control of a 4t65..... i need to check if there is an open pulse accumulator and add in some code to the T-side to control line pressure in a full closed-loop fashion, rather than th...

Re: Walker Quiet-flow SS install

..... it's a glasspack with a flow-actuated butterfly valve in a chambered muffler case. that would be why it will do the cackle on decel/overrun. i like the cackle, so i've never tried to get rid of it on mine, but i don't know if it is possible to do using only a glasspack-style muffler. i think y...

Re: 2.3l quad. 4 HO exhaust systems?

The old rule of thumb is if you can see though it it's going to be way too loud. i wouldn't say that, necessarily.... with the factory and resonator with only the original muffler replaced with a glasspack, my 3100 is quite mellow near idle. put foot to floor and it is noticably louder than stock t...

my diagrams are showing it as present on an 88 2.0.

that should give you a good idea of where to look.

Re: whats wrong with my gauges?

going from extreme cold to warm/hot will cause condensation issues for a period of time(think soda can coming out of a refrigerator). the condensation eventually evaporates/boils off though. did it ever go away after a long period of time of running? i really couldn't give an estimate of how long th...

Re: whats wrong with my gauges?

it is an operating characteristic of old LCD displays(assuming it is LCD, not LED).... in addition to poor contrast ratios, bad viewing angles aren't surprising. why it does that when warm..... i'm not entirely sure. normally, that kind of situation is only present when it is very cold out, the &quo...

Re: Aftermarket Tachometer even exist?

The older clusters to my knowledge should receive a tach signal from the ICM ja. it really wouldn't surprise me if the tach is out of calibration. the 89-93 grand prix UB3 clusters are notoriously bad for having both the tach and speedometer calibration resistors fail in every way possible. display...

Re: Fan

perhaps unplug the CTS, i believe that will force the fan on at all times it is unplugged, though you'll get some interesting operating characteristics out of the engine, so just don't drive with it like that. if unplugging the CTS alone doesn't do it, you could unplug it and connect a potentiometer...

Re: Fan

226*F. looks like L-bodies didn't get a second fan like the other platforms?

this is according to the PCM's datastream BTW, which as long as the coolant temp sensor is accurate, is accurate. the guage may show something entirely different and isn't to be trusted compared to the 2-wire temp sensor.

Re: Ecu prom problems

well, a target year would really be all that is necessary.... 87 and 88 2.8 should be more or less identical. i don't know if berettas had the whole MAF disable recall issue that W-bodies did for 88 model years. 89 would definitely be MAF-less but otherwise the same, 90 would probably be different f...

Re: Ecu prom problems

That will be a problem for you then. A non-digital ECM will NOT run your digital cluster, period. Tach (and I think speedo, too) will not function without the digi-ECM, and even the temperature gauge runs data from the ECM on your car, instead of a second individual sensor in the rear cylinder-head...
