Re: air bags for my gtz.

I don't know exactly where to go. I just googled "cavalier air-strut", or something similar (air ride), when I was lookin for my cavalier. There should be bolt-in versions available, just gotta look a bit.

Re: Any old members still here?

Not sure when I actually got my Z. Must of been in 2001, give or take a year. I know I was on the forum for quite a while before I finally got my first Beretta. Actually, the first car I paid for too. First was a $300 LeBaron my dad got me, that I had to pay to fix every other day... So really, I gu...

Re: Sooo, swapping to a 5sp???

Seems like you wont even have to do any welding. That was the "hardest" part of my swap. Second was probably putting the hole in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder. Other then that, a pretty simple swap for anyone that has decent knowledge/capability.

Re: air bags for my gtz.

I'm guessing the front ones went bad and he didn't want to spend the money to put new ones in. I think they run around $500. I looked into it year ago and then again recently because I toying with the idea of bagging my Cavy. Thought that they would have come down in price over the years, but no luck.

Re: Maxium aspect ratio with 17in rims

If it hits the spring perch, convert to coilovers in the front. My next set of wheels will probably be 17s, and I would really like to do 245s. Had 225/40/18s and those got really close to the perch, but I don't remember them being very close to the actual strut tube... It'll be a while before I do ...

Re: 2manyphatrides

I never really have cared for that car. A lot of top notch work, but come on, corvette tail lights... Those were overdone years before he even built that thing. I suppose not everyone uses the entire rear end, but still... He also should have fixed the trunk before the photo shoot. Can't imagine put...

Re: Brake rotor/rim torque???

Wonder if they overtorqued the wheels when they put them back on. Definitely need to check out your rotors, a bent wheel or uneven tire isn't going to cause the pedal to pulsate.

Re: Input? Swap to 93 and older control arms?

I swapped to the older style a few years back. What I noticed is that the opening for the dogbone mount on the pass side was smaller. My billet dogbone did not fit properly. Although, I dont think that particular mount is even produced anymore, it is rather beefy, probably quite a bit more then it n...

Re: Header Build

That's the site I looked at the most. I'm just gonna stick with my homemade collector though. It's not pretty, but I'm sure it will do just as good as anything I could buy. Well, maybe not anything, but the basic style of collectors. I would even bet that it is better then just a basic collector. I'...

Re: Header Build

I've already taken care of the thermostat problem. I adjusted the primaries a little and I also got the neck of the thermostat housing angle towards the engine a little more. When all is said and done, there should be plenty of room. I did put together a collector the other day. Not the prettiest lo...

Re: Any old members still here?

I posted on bstuff when it was on the old forum, then was member 14 or so on the most recent one that has also come to pass. Lot of info gone, but at least we still have bnet. I had an old account but think it was deleted from inactivity over the years. This one isn't even that new, but it wasn't de...

Re: Header Build

They are fitting without a problem right now. I do most of the routing while in the car itself, then put them on the mock up outside of the car to finish up and make sure there are no issues with the intakes. Then there are also a lot of back and forth between car and mock up to make sure the change...

Re: Header Build

They're only tack welded to the flanges right now. After getting all the primaries where I want them, they'll be removed, welded up then welded into their final positions for installation into the car. I do wish I had a better welder so I could get some cleaner looking welds, but I am getting some n...

Re: Header Build

This is the first set of headers I've ever attempted, so far it's not too bad. Merging the primaries will probably be a bit of work, haven't quite made it that far to find out yet though. I did notice the flange bolts are going to be crowded on the bottom. I gave them as much room as I could, but th...
