New Carpet Needed
Well, I didn't have any luck finding anything here in town. I am still hesitant in buying this carpet set only because I think I can do it cheaper. I will wait a couple of weeks to see if I find anything. If I don't come across anything, I will probably place an order. It is much easier to install a...

I have been looking at maybe puchasing from this seller. I almost have the floors all redone and the old carpet is definetly not going back in. I just haven't had a chance to stop in at the carpet place here to see if they have anything close to automotive carpet.

(HateMyAuto @ Jul. 03 2007,21:22)QUOTEIt's not that I can't find them, it's just that the closest ones are over 100 miles away. Also, regarding purchasing them, is it worth the extra money to grab a reman with zero miles? Thanks again. For your 96, it is probably worth the reman. With a used motor,...

Permenant High Beams
The switch you refer to is called the headlight dimmer switch. Call your local parts supplier or dealer for it. You are probably right in thinking it is the fault if you haven't tested the circuit. To remove it, you must also remove the ignition switch. It is very similar to the headlight dimmer swi...

Coolant boiling over
You are probably experiencing air in the system or a restriction/flow issue. Run it with the cap off and see if it will boil in the reservoir. Worst case scenario you have the beginnings of head gasket failure.

When calling yards for a motor, tell them you need a 3400 for a venture, montana, rendevous. Sometimes you need to be very specific when talking to counter people. As Cliff posted, these engines are literally everywhere. Usually a very affordable price too.

Transmission shudder
I am pretty sure there is no vaccuum modulator on that auto. Is the fluid level up? Is it dirty or show signs of debris? When was the transmission last serviced? Was there a lot of clutch material in the pan? Scanning for codes could definetly help you here if the problem is valve body related. If...

The dash cap is a plastic mold that fits over the old dash. It seems to resemble the dash quite well. http://www.1aauto.com/1A....34 This is just one I came across....

DASH CAP
Looking for anyone that has purchased a dash cap for there 90/earlier dash and installed it. Does it fit well? Do the little vents and speaker covers fit into it? Have pics of it installed? I would upgrade to the later dash, but I kinda like the old one better. As well eventually it would crack/p...

I would plan to drop the oil pan on it for inspection. You can have a look at the bottom end and still check the chain. Pan is about 3 hrs --- front cover is like 5hrs. You say the noise seems to be in the front, pull the first two spark plugs. They might tell part of the story.

service engine soon light
This has not set as a hard code. The problem is probably intermittent, and just on the borderline of faulting ECM specifications. You need to check for the code when the issue is most apparent and/or the engine light is on. Otherwise just start looking for anything that may pose a problem... misfire...

Engine Temp Sensor Removal ?'s
DO NOT jump power to this circuit. Doing so will most likely blow the circuit in the ECM. As cliff8928 describes giving the circuit ground should make the gauge go to full hot(low resistance). If you happen to have a fuel gauge sender lying around, connect it to ground and the ECT circuit. You shou...
