What year manuals will i be able to just splice the wires from the vss into my 93 auto v6 without worrying about pulses/calibration? i have many available to me for free so whichever one would work and be the strongest would be nice.  I plan to splice in the vss, clutch switch, backup switch and w/e else i need sensor wise.  would disconecting the tranny plugs from the auto throw a code (the shift, tcc, position and press switches)?  as for the starter saftey and transmission position switches the clutch, backup switches will be spliced in to allow it to start, use reverse lights.  My biggest issue is the vss and the abs sensor if the magnets are in the outer joint.

IF i remember right, you can use your existing drivers side CV shaft for the automatic on the passenger side of the manual.  I think you'll need to go get a drivers side for a manual with ABS though.  The VSS signal is all the same as long as the transmission comes from a beretta/corsica or 92+ J-Body.

isnt the passengers side the side with the jack shaft? or are you saying that the drivers side auto shaft would go in that?  Couldnt i just grab the drive axles off an abs izuzu tranny or is there a different spline number/shaft diameter

Well, for the ABS axles, I'm using a set for a '91 Quad442  (Calais, HO, 5-speed, ABS).  They work fine with my older style intermediate shaft.  I'm not sure if there is a difference in the length of the axles with the new style intermediate or not.  Either way, that was correct what i was referring to with the axles before.  If you were to use the Isuzu axles, you would have to get rid of the intermediate shaft because none of the isuzu cars have them at all.  Providing they even fit the same.

96-98 Nbody Isuzus have intermediate shafts. I have one along with the axles somewhere. it came from a 96 GA 2.4.

as for axles. Any axles from any J, N, L, Quad 4 or V6 getrag should work if you want ABS get them from a 92-94, Corsica v6, Beretta gt or GTZ, Grand Am HO Q4, Achieva HO Q4, Cavalier Z24, Sunbird gt. The cavalier and sunbird 3.1 w/ 5spd is plentiful. they all use the same axles folks.

I would just go with new axles instead of tearing them apart because your just going to break them anyways.

a V6 or Quad would be the Getrag or NVG T550 (they're nearly the same!)  I believe the Getrag is the external slave cylinder w/clutch fork and the NVG T550s are all the slave/throw-out assembly (which works much better for me!)  The clutch master cylinder is most definitely better on a NVG T550 car.

a 2.2 would be an Isuzu.

sure is, and a car that has that will have a nice all-aluminum master cylinder with a bleeder screw on it.  (which i have a spare of)

the Getrag 284 was used in the W-Bodies (Lumina, Cutlass Supreme, Grand Prix) with the 3.4 DOHC.  Yes, it is stronger but all the parts are considerably more expensive and it is suspected that the different (pull-type) clutch puts significantly more wear on the crankshaft.
