Dam Mechanics...
Well my beretta had a fuel leak and I had no time to fix it so I went to a mechanic near me. This was about 2 months or sometime ago and I just noticed when I was fixing the parking break today that they set there 2 post hoist wrong... They ****** up the mounting points behind the wheels under the car and on the front right put a pretty big gaping hole. Car has been sitting for awhile cause the head gasket is blown and I just noticed it now. I'm kinda stuck on weather to fix the GTZ or just put it away for a few yrs and go back to it later... Anyway thought I would rant a bit.
And heres a pic of the hole.

thats only gonna get worse if you dont do something about the rust.
that hole wasnt fully caused by them the rust started it and the hoist finished it off
mine started out as not being that bad long story short it sat for 2yrs on a  pavement driveway and the whole rocker pretty much evaporated.

Take it back and tell them you need compensation for it.
They ****** up. They need to pay.

Just cause you have a rusty car doesn't mean that it's the mechanic's fault. Rust sucks, and everyone knows it and the older your car is, the more there is. If I could have a dollar for everytime I have to reset the lift points when picking up old cars I'd be rich. (I've never gone through, but you can tell when it's time to reset.) mind you, I ALWAYS go by the factory lift points, if they are rusted out then I try to find a good alternative like suspension mounts.
I gotta stick up for my fellow Mechanics!

Car had zero rust on both sides. It looks like that now cause I drove it home from them in salt covered roads. I had this car on the lift many times and have before pictures of it on my old computer... It will get fixed but just kinda bumbed out about the situation with this car.

That was rust that started from the inside and it has NOTHING to do with how the mechanic lifted it other than he disturbed it so now you know its rusted in the rocker. Its an old car, not much you can do about it other than repair it or scrap it...

Whether the rust was present or not it's still the mechanics fault. I used to be one, so I would stick up for him but Blaster is right. The car should have been lifted properly by the pinch welds, NOT the rockers. And there's no way the mech didn't know what he did. AND he tried to hide it by not disclosing it. Yet another wrench making the rest of us look bad. Sorry Blaster, GL with it dude.

Yeah i've had this car on the lift x100 times and it's like they just pushed the hoist under it and just lifted without checking. When I redid the whole front suspension those areas were perfect and only started to create surface rust cause of the exposed metal . If you stick your hand up in the hole and feel around it's solid beyond the hole. Got bored and took pic of the drivers side/the whip.
Blurry/crap pic but left side it bent and started to rust.

Oh, I see. in your first pic I thought the pinch weld was pushed through the rocker, hence the hole. It should have been noted on the repair order. I agree Suzuki, another one making us look bad.
sorry about the damage blaster! I saw on Ebay that there were some pre-bent rockers for sale, might not be a bad Idea to pick them up!

I'm sure the car was PERFECT on the bottom side before you took it into them.

It takes more than 1 time in the salt to rust, so it wasn't like your car was rust free and you drove it once and were attacked by the rust monster.
This is why some places stop working on certain cars all together. You get people with cars that are 15 years old and starting to rust or whatever, and something happens that isn't the mechanics fault and they start bitching and crying about how they want compensated for something that's doing what it does naturally, rust.

It was one of those days with slush water and salt were everywhere and splashing up on everything, let it sit for a month without washing it and tell me what you get. It just would of been nice if they told me Anyway... I'm contemplating sending it to the junkyard seeing how they ****** it up.

Still going to take longer than a month.
