This looks like it's going to be a great deal!
Spread the word.
Hell, I'm coming! That alone should boost attendance expodentially!
And I'm bringing the the Quad.
Plus I always buy the first round.

I was just looking at the Lebanon Valley website for the Test & Tune safety requirements.
Not much there.
I do recall reading that they have a 14.99 or quicker helmet requirement, but do I have to bring my Fire Jacket too?
That would seem like overkill, but then so does the helmet in the 14's.
Anyone know for sure?
Also, how busy is this place on a Test & Tune Saturday? I'm used to getting at least 6 or 8 runs without much trouble, but I have heard some stories that 3 might be the best we might expect.

depends on how busy it is yes... but you should only need your helmet... and IIRC thats for a 13.99 or quicker.

Well looking at the schedule we are running smack into a pretty busy day Sept 20th.
It's a rain make up date for their NESSA Program, and some sort of Motorcycle Day as well.
Might be more advantageous to bring the Quad and just enjoy the beer and company than drive the 3500 all that way for 2 or 3 runs.

Well I know that I may take the corsy down the track like 2 times. I dont plan on racing it more than that though. So if we only get 2 runs, thats fine with me.
Who is coming from Canada? This definately is looking like its going to be bigger than bfest. So far Jeff has 29-34 people confirmed and 20-21 cars. WE have guys coming form the south, the midwest, and Canada, along with the people in the NE.... Awesome

Guess I should update this site if anyone cares.
I am pleased to announce that this year's annual Northeast Beretta Meet will once again be held in the Albany, NY area on the weekend of September 19-21, 2008.
The official group hotel is:
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites
8 Empire Drive
Rensselaer, NY 12144
About the track:
Lebanon Valley Dragway is ~20 minutes East of the Hotel, in West Lebanon, NY.
The track is 1/4 mile asphalt drag strip with 400' concrete strip, situated 603' above sea level. Racer fee for Saturday is $30, and spectator fee is $10. (I'm looking into getting a group discount for our racers. No guarantee as of yet.) Since Lebanon Valley is an NHRA track, it complies to all NHRA rules and regulations. A helmet is required for the driver of any car running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile. Most drivers can use a helmet meeting SNELL K98, M2000, SA2000, M2005, or SA2005 specifications. The helmet rating must be designated on a tag INSIDE the helmet, or sewn to one of the helmet straps. The designation stenciled on the exterior of the helmet is insufficient for NHRA technical inspection. All race vehicles are subject to inspection and must pass before they are allowed to race. All engine, transmission, and battery mounts must be secure. If you have any questions regarding your vehicle and its compliance to the rules, please visit the NHRA site for details.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is a loose itinerary. Activities and schedule for this year include:
Friday - Meet and greet 10-11AM in the hotel parking lot. Once everyone arrives, we'll head to the NY State Museum. Parking is limited, so carpooling is advised. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are accepted at the door. After the museum, we'll have a casual group lunch, then make our way over to Oasis Park for some miniature golf, laser tag in the woods, dodgeball, paddle boats, and more. (If that doesn't sound like your thing, you might enjoy A.I.R RockGym). We'll regroup back at the hotel ~5pm to relax and unwind by the pool and/or hot tub. Group supper and drinks at Bomber's Burrito Bar. Giant stuffed burritos, as well as other items on the menu. Bomber's is all-ages downstairs. After 8pm, it is strictly 21+ to enter the upstairs bar, but downstairs is open all night. (Note: For $20 each, we can have 2 HOURS of OPEN BAR!)
Saturday - The caravan departs hotel ~8am for the drag strip. Drag racing/spectating and test & tune all day from 8:30am-4pm. Info packets will be distributed that contain information on other area activities, if you decide drag racing isn't your thing. We'll re-group at the hotel ~5pm for some more swimming/relaxing before gathering in the main suite for our awards/prize ceremony. Then it's party time! We're off to Jillian's for food, drinks, games, billiards, live music, and a dancefloor!
Sunday - Informal group breakfast/coffee (optional). This usually involves a small food establishment or chain (i.e., McDonald's, Denny's, etc.). This is where we'll say our goodbyes before heading home.
