Pics! I've been moving with no computer hooked up or anything, so some of these are old.

Now you want pink ones, dont you?3X00-Modified wrote:OH NO, not body color headlight covers!!! LOL
The headlight covers I had were in pretty bad shape, so I scuffed & shot em. If I dont like the look I wont use em. I can either buy regular tinted headlight covers or just go with E36 ones.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
Told you I'm a pic whore...
Didnt get the side skirts on because I want to clean up the brackets before they are permanently riveted. I also have some alignment issues to fix with the front panels, but didnt really have time to dick with it tonight, and my inspection appt is tomorrow. It needs a suspension alignment, and then it's back to daily driver duty in a Beretta! I can work on all the other little stuff as I go along.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
I dont know about the headlight covers... Almost too much gray out front.
I broke mine up with the egg crate grill since I still dont have an emblem for the Z04 one, and I think the black helps add some to the look, since I do have a raspberry black deal going on.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
Black probably will look better, but the ones I had were pretty beat, and still had a ghosted "Z26" that I couldnt get off without scuffing. E36 will still be the best option I think if I dont do any stripes. With stripes I think the body-color headlight covers will look good.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
Signals are fixed. I've also had some kind of wheel bearing/steering issue I was troubleshooting and I figured that out too. The driver's axle that was too long and got sent back and shortened is still too long and binding. I didnt notice it on my first drive a couple months ago because my alignment was WAY off. After a calibrated eyeball adjustment to my alignment, apparently the knuckle came in just enough to make the axle bind. So I'll be calling the driveshaft shop tomorrow. Balls.
On the bright side I did make the rear bumper look purty tonight since I got my order from VPI today. Some of you guys will hate it! (Isaac) hahaha

Called the Driveshaft Shop and I'll be sending the axle in to be shortened further.
Cliff, how did you make out with your axle situation?

Whats the turn around time? By the time you get this "drivable" you will have 1 day to break in you clutch, and that will be on its way to NE.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
It will probably be about a week when you figure in shipping. Hopefully I still have my 4t60e driver's axle kicking around somewhere that I can slap in for the mean time and get some miles on the clutch. I almost think I scrapped it with the 95 though...
Cliff, glad to hear all is well - and the failure was a fluke due to a defective part. When I spoke to Frank months ago, he had said he NEVER had to warranty a GM FWD axle before.
I had thought about cutting another upper engine mount bracket to move the engine toward the pass frame rail .5" as a quick fix for the problem. It would also give my shift cables and EGR adapter more room, but the torque struts would be a problem.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
I pulled the axle out tonight and there were needle bearings everywhere! One of the wheels inside the inner joint was off the 3-way stud and jammed into the back of the cage limiting the travel. So the axle shaft itself is indeed the correct length. I was wondering how an alignment could make that much difference. I'm thinking I screwed it up somehow when I pulled it out to drop the trans and fix the fork.
So I just temporarily assembled the inner axle joint and it's good to go length-wise! No shipping that sucker back now, just have to grab some CV grease and a clip for the end of that 3-stud snout (one was broken)
The car is at my house for the first time tonight since my dad needed his garage. I miss the level concrete already... uneven grass FTMFL!!!
