IMO you should have had the cool looking new style SS like the white side emblems on the newer SS cars

woody90gtz wrote:Made some good progress tonight. Forgot to buy a new battery... whoops. But I did get the pass window and all the trim, etc installed and the pass front seat upholstered. For anyone who was wondering, Beretta window trim looks awesome flat black. I really like it.

Those Z04 seats are a fucker to assemble, but George did an awesome job stitching them, with all the right reinforcements for hog rings. I'm impressed. I still need to hit them with a steamer (not a cleveland) to smooth out the wrinkles and bring the foam to life. I also have to hit the plastic covers & adjustment handles with some black and put them on. All in all not a bad night though.

You know how to check if they are real W41 cams right? Just wondering. ;)

I got a "60k" "W41" motor from the same guy... I decided to check the bottom end before I throw it in the car and its a good thing I did... Cyl 1 was a bit rough and it already had aftermarket bearings in it.. who knows. It has the 086 head and the year stamping being a 1992 is correct but I still haven't seen proof that its got W41 cams or not yet. Who knows. I'm kind of in the same boat and thinking about just fixing the motor that's in the car.

I don't think you got a W41 motor from Heavywoody... That's who Eric is referring to. His name is spelt Geoff and we always pick on him about it.

I know I didnt get it from Geoff.. the guy I was refering to is the one that had all the parts for sale in North Carolina.. Geoff picked up the motor for me and crated it so my cousin could bring it to Ohio in her truck.

Just because the IDI cover was a W41 IDI cover doesnt mean its a W41 motor.. Its only 4 bolts and anybody can swap one on to make it look like a W41 motor. Im not doubting the guy, it probably is a W41 motor I just havent seen proof that it has the cams yet.

I was told the only way to check them is to look at the cams themselves.. compared to H.O. cams the W41 cam's intake lobes (I think thats what theyre called?) are more rounded off.. Is there another way to check?

Yeah, you can visually compare them to known HO cams or if you can get the lobe measurements, you can measure the lobe and check that way too. The lift is the same, W-41's just have a slightly larger duration, so yes, more rounded I guess you could say.

When you misspell a variation of the word itself, it's hard not to! haha

BTW...found some black leather Cobalt SS seats locally that have me thinking.

Those forks are from a 94 NVG so compare carefully before you use them if you do.

That's the SS stitching I'm talkin about you should do in your seats ;) in maybe the same color as your car or the white like the newer style SS emblems that would look goooooooooodddddddd :good:

Update: had the seats sold and then not sold. Not gonna start that project until if/when mine sell. Those leather Cobalt seats do look damn nice though. And after driving the Camaro around a lot this summer I really do like leather seats.

It has now officially been over a year since the Beretta has been on the road. Kinda sad, actually. 2012 is the first year in a decade I haven't been driving a Beretta daily for most of the year. That will change soon, though. I'm gonna get to ripping & tearing on it. Got a couple projects I've been putting off for too long, plus the trans fix.

I even grabbed the rear disc brackets I've had forever and took them to work to finish machining them. Mocked them up with the new calipers, etc. I got on sale over a year ago. haha
