The low mileage one Geoff grabbed for me is also seized but it shifts easier. The 158k one I grabbed at the junkyard last year spins and shifts easy, but I'm just a little hesitant to put a junkyard trans in. And I want to find out what happened to this one.

If EP e-mails you back, could you ask him how much for another LSD? I e-mailed him a week or so ago and he never responded.

He's replied a couple times already today. I just sent him a note about an LSD for you.
He thinks it's a sheared roll pin in the 3-4 fork. Which I would have agreed with yesterday...but I really don't think so now. I can get it to shift in to 4th, but it takes a lot of effort...much more than would be possible with a shift cable. And the fork functions correctly, so it can't be that.

I think I see some de-laminating of your jbweld project on that trans...

Yeah. The redneck JBWeld trick didn't do much. I should have prepped that part better. It was an afterthought...worth a shot though! haha

I can not get the damn gear clusters out of this thing. I removed the shift shaft and emptied the case other than the gears and I can not get them to press out. The output shaft will go, but the input shaft does not budge. However, at this point I can get it to turn freely in "neutral." It's still in 4th when in "neutral" and shifting to any other gears binds it up.

Thanks! I'm guessing I have to pre-send him my final drive?

I breifly remember talking to you saturday, Its a little blurry.
I used some heat on the inner bearing races to help mine come apart easier. I didnt plan on re-using the bearings so there was really no issue with me doing that.
On a press that input shaft should move. Are you sure you took out everything you needed to before you can press them out?

Sounds like something welded itself to something else in that case...

Anybody jump off the roof? haha
100% positive everything is out. There's a bolt that comes in from the side for reverse, shift shaft is out, end cover is off...there is nothing left in it but the input & output shaft. I had it on the 3.5 ton press at work and the input shaft will not budge. I am going to look for and probably end up making a ring that I can use to press on the outer bearing housing rather than the shaft itself. If that doesn't work I'll light the propane torch. I have the new bearings left over from my rebuild kit so that's not a problem.
