Barry, what strut mount metal cups did you use? Original or ??? Original are shaped best and helps stop the nut not seating down enough and poping when hitting bumps /turns etc.

It's street legal! Passed inspection today, and they swear to me the steering rack is fine and it just needs an alignment. I dont know how a bad alignment would cause nasty noises when turning, but I'll try that out first and go from there.

Rear seatback upholstery has been returned to MI to get straightened out, and I'm also having him do a shift boot and sun visors for it. Never did call about an alignment... I was so busy at work I forgot all about it. I used a hitch pin the clutch pedal rod.. works great.

I also decided it needed a little more attitude, so I picked up some BMW headlight locally for cheap. They really dont fit great, but neither does anything else on the front end right now. So I have two ricey mods... the SS emblems and the head lights. haha

Here are some pics I haven't posted yet. Looking at all these, I've decided I definitely need to paint the wheels body color, I think it will look much better when that is done.

17x7 wheels with 40mm offset. 224/45R17 tires. Suspension is the Eibach springs and right now it has Monroe shocks & struts. I have KYBs for the rear but am holding off on install until I see if the Monroes are decent. I had KYBs on the 95 and the ride is pretty harsh for a daily driver and the shitty roads around here. The rest of it is just strut & shock braces with a front FE7 swaybar and rear Addco with poly bushings everywhere but the rear axle beam eyes. It doesnt sit as low as I'd like, but the 95 never did either, and it does keep me from scraping excessively. I dont want to screw up that freshly painted bumper.

I was wondering what do you actually have into it money wise? I know you have a ton of time but you had most of the parts right?

I can definately tell that the bumpers are misaligned but its looking very good. Congrats on being road legal. Now drive it. :Yahoo!:

I had a grand total of about $10k in the Z26 I scrapped. Many of those parts are now reused on this car, with another ~4k in it with paint, lsd, axles, interior, headers... etc.

It's scary to think I have almost $15k in a Beretta, but I drove the Z26 every single day for about 5 years and still am using many of those parts that have a lot of life left in them.

LOL one headlight up, one down as far as gap. Header panel takes a lot of adjustment, not just in the lights. I finally fixed my headlight alignment when I adjusted it. But you will be chopping yours up for the BMW lights anyway...

How come the tail pipes do a nose dive?

Noises will subside with alignment, the rack is likely being rocked up and down and at an angle with everything being off, causing it to move around in the firewall mounts.

I'm not sure how the exhaust tip moved. When I mocked everything up I had them almost flush with the bumper, but I am wondering if I ever bolted the bumper on or if it was just hanging there. That's the only explanation I can think of.

I know the header panel is cocked a little bit, and the bumper is over too far to the driver's side... but I'm already out of adjustment. I'll figure something out.

those springs havent seen much road use, prolly less then 5k on them so they prolly still have to settle a bit along with the new shocks and struts i let in there so it may take a lil longer

and thats another reason i went with intrax this time cause the eibach just werent as low as i would like them
