I read somewhere that GTZs shut off at I think 142 or 143mph that's why I can't wait to get mine up and running to test run her, but before I do I'm gonna make sure I do a brake upgrade front and rear just in case of surprises

I have not heard that. But then I could be wrong, however why would you need to go that fast? Are you going to be using this on a race track?

No. Just daily commute. I won't be going that fast. I wouldn't trust a 4cylinder to go 140. That's waaaay to much on if. Unless its a very hi end motor.

Offtopic but...
God do I hate PA roads, potholes galore... Are Meadville's roads shitty?
Not even joking, the front end of the GTU was knocked out of alignment within a few weeks of getting it from potholes and such. Perfectly (like brand new car perfect) aligned when I got it.

I know when I was driving a truck back from over there for my company I hit a giant pothole at 70 mph in a 1 ton chevy box van with a boom and bucket and omg I thought I ripped the passenger side wheels off but kept driving and was fine I thought at least it popped a tire but I guess not I was amazed

That's stock for stock. A GTZ can be a great car as long as you know how to properly maintain it. Be religious with oil changes and regular maintenance and it will reward you.

You know what your talking about.
Stock 92 owns all other years...but modded A 96 Z26 with a Swap (3400/3500) is Very hard to beat, due to massive Low end and crazy top end.

This thread is about STOCK vehicles though... And guess what, you can modify quads too! Quads ftw!

I had my quad 90 GTZ way past the 120 on the speedo when I was 17. My Z26 shut off at 114.

I prefer the gtz interior to the z26, and the Quad puts the 3100 to shame for sure. Maybe if they would have made a 3100 5 speed, but this topic is for stock.
