That sucks. I didn't know that the 95's had balance shafts(or that they were still 2.3's, thank you for the info)! Those damn things really slow down the revs. They are for sure not needed on a oval track car. They are just to make it smoother at idle.

Quads do vibrate at idle and that is what the balance shafts were suppose to cure to keep people happy.
And they do tend to be a limiter to the RPM range of the engine.
I'm the 3rd owner of my Quad, (68,000 original miles, still has the OEM clutch). It has never been beaten, but i will admit from 5000 RPM up it's "interesting"!
Not that I get there very often.

I don't know I know the 95 ga I had was a bad ass little 4 door it was before I was really into quads but I've been a beretta fan my whole life just never had one til recently my first car in my name which I don't count my first car cause I had my chevelle first but it was a 94 silver 2 door grand am SOHC quad what a gutless turd I barley could get past 90 mph that's how much power it had now the 95 dohc 4 door grand am was a different story everyday I'd get up for work late and have to rush everyday at 110 mph on the same back road everyday 10 miles away made it there in 5 mins lol

ahh it was worth a shot. Ill keep an eye out for a HO version rather then the 41. Whats does a used HO running engine normally go for?
