Make sure the plenum gasket is seated correctly and not cracked. Also check the big nipple coming from the plenum that goes to the black hose for the brake booster. Check that hose too for leaks also.

Did you "run" the valves? I'm sure you did, but I have to ask.

It's tighting each rocker down when the engine is running to the point where the engine bogs and then back it off 1/4 turn. That's how we use to do it on older V8's. You should be ok if you didn't do it as long as there was no lash. I had to check the Chilton's to see if it was needed for the 3.1. It says that it's only used after valve seat reconditioning and a new rocker arm stud. I only brought this up because it almost sounded like your lifters were pumping up when you gave it gas and going back down after you let off. I was thinking that the pump up was getting rid of some lash there. If there is lash you can't use what I said before(there is another way). Sorry man, looks like I went back to the old school stuff. Looks like I never should have brought this up, it's a long shot.

That is not necessary for our engines MPB. It's all torque to spec and go.
Did you check the vacuum line going to the vacuum canister for the heater/ac controls? That line runs from the UIM/TB area and goes down by the battery (underneath it in the fender well) . Also make sure you have the brake booster hose seated all the way at the UIM and the booster. Make sure there are NO rips or slices in the hose. Be sure the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line is not cracked or disconnected. It should "T" off sending one line to the back of the plenum and the other line to the TB. Also make sure the cruise control system is checked for any leaks.
It might be best to pull the plenum off while carefully inspecting the removal process to find any errors.

Keep us updated. I think I want to know how much the mods did as much as you do. You may not be seeing the full scope of the mods with the way it's running now. Did you use new O-rings on the injectors?

yes, i was smart and use ALL BRAND new injector o rings. i changed out the map sensor and IAC today and it helped A LITTLE. Not much. i also put some teflon tape around the brake booster fitting. /sigh i'm really hoping the intakes are not cracked. that was 200 bucks right there, i'll keep looking for the leak. I know it's aleak but i don't know where its from

All I can think of is what I said some posts back and what 1988GTU said. The hard lines under the upper intake and what go to the vapor canistor. Good to hear that you used new O-rings. Those hard lines can break very easy do to all the heat over time. If I remember right the rubber hose for the windshield washer sprayers will fit the hard lines. One of mine broke near the vapor canistor on my 90.

so, here's an update. I've done absolutely nothing because i've been busy lol.
BUT!!!!!
the car is weird. sometimes she has big idle issues and goes up and down, but other times, it's preaty smooth for the most part, normaly when it warms up. IDK whats wrong, i havn't had the time to take off my upper plenum. but on the other hand, i did buy some lug nuts last night so i can destroy these ones on my car and change my brakes
(the little shmuck that traded me didn't include the wheel lock with my car and i've been riding on shot pads)

Why not search for wheel lock brands online and find the correct one for your lug...
Its not that hard...
For example...
Here is a lug nut remover and also Gorilla replacement keys.
http://www.brandsport.com/gorewhloke.html
Rather than risk damaging your rims trying to "destroy" the current lugs.

well, my buddy works at firestone and they have a tool for removing wheel locks, and i tried getting a key already, it did not work. the keys kept breaking.

In the old days we would pound a socket on them to get it off.

updates FTW
got the lugnutz off. i found a guy here in dayton that let me borrow his lugnut lock and i replaced the nuts with some nice gorilla nuts. (lol) also found out the squeaking sound from my breaks is from the back breaks. i don't know how to do drums lol.
as far as the vacuum leak and such, i took out my FFP chip in the computer and put back in the stock one, just for poops and giggles. Guess what! idle smoothed out alot better and there is no weird vacuum idle lope thing but the SES light comes on because i have the egr deleted. i still need to hook up the PCV valve, i just haven't gotten around to it. hmmm, oh well. there's some updates for you guys.
