Im a bit old fashoined when it comes to cars whats the tcc? I unplugged it and the car doesnt immediatly stall out anymore when I put it in gear. Am I eventually gonna have to replace the tcc? Or is it cool that I just leave it unplugged?

It's actually the TCC Solenoid that you're unplugging. The TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) is used to create a direct connection between the transmission and the engine in order to reduce fuel consumption (lower RPMs) and i believe it also can lower the temperature of the trans in some cases. What happens when it goes bad is that the solenoid sticks when it gets hot and the TCC solenoid will not disengage, leaving the driveline still with that direct connection. Basically it's like stopping a manual trans car without the clutch depressed.

Nothing is going to go wrong should you not replace it aside from a little more fuel consumption. I would say that if you ever have any reason to drop the engine/trans down, then replace it. You can't replace it as-is in the car, there's no clearance to get the side-pan off.

The TCC also multiplies torque (by 1-1/2 times if I remember right). I replaced the solenoid in my '89 GT as Rex did by removing the LH wheel & wheelwell liner and removing the transmission sidepan. In my case it was necessary to rotate a couple of metal lines to get the pan out. The TCC solenoid was updated in '93 to fix the binding problem, and last time I checked it cost around $40 from the dealer. If you're going to do the job you should also replace the sidepan gasket. Fluid loss is minimal and you shouldn't have to add any ATF when you're done.
