Yeah, Issac kind of just dropped off...

I'm jelly, OP. You did pretty damn good for $300.

Stylus bought out Transgenic and it was the only group of people who took the time to make an intake setup for our car rather than having to design your own.

My base has the transgenic CAI now. And it sucks, as the tire has rubbed a hole through the inner liner. Hence why I need to move it to the engine bay.

I've had my Transgenic CAI installed since 2005, probably about 38K on the car since then, and have had no issues. That's with meatier tires too (225/45/17).

It's all in how it's installed... you can rotate it a little to clear the inner liner.

I modified mine and used only 3 pipes to get the filter there and I got much better filter placement so I did not bulge the fender liner..

But I'm also using a KN filter that has a 3 1/2" base size, not a 5-6" like the big cone filters do.

Most of the bulges are unfortunately user error in fitment and not taking the time to re-position the pipes to get the filter in a less obstructive area... The pipes included are good, but some trimming is necessary at times to get it where you want it.

Yah I ruined my fenderwell because of how I installed the intake/filter years ago in my dumber days. There was no pushing it back so I just left it that when when putting new filters on lol. It only rubs when I have my 17's on. I need a skinnier filter like you have, Jon.

I laughed when I read it lol

ontopic: nice car for $300!, even has euro headlights...looks weird with hubcaps though, and is it just me or is it sagging in the back a bit and everything looks misaligned?
