Ok you are not allowed to put that engine in the car now... it's just too clean. Wrap it up in a bag and put it under the steps...

Re: Project Second Chance - Full Update PG 16
i kept thinking venture when i told you before but then i spent way longer than i should have looking for engine bay pics of the pontiac vans.. there aren't many of them for sale anymore and actually finding one with an engine bay pic is even harder..3X00-Modified wrote:That's what it was... I thought it was venture but damn close to the same thing.

Well, future reference man, the 94-96 A-bodies have the same one too. They are a bit easier to find. Hell, theres 4 in my local yard, and those are just 3100 cars.

It's not an A-body line its just the A-body tree on the pump housing...
With this tree you use the factory 3.1L style line that wraps around the rail and firewall.
You can see it hooked up in this pic.
Same line that's on the Indy, but that tree has two outlets.

Yeah i should have clarified the post a little bit more. I meant to say A-body tree, 88-90 L-body heater pipe.
I need to get pics and post up the parts on their own this weekend too. I still need to get them cleaned up and repainted. Im also, gonna look in to getting my extra mounts filled this weekend as well. I want to bolt out, and bolt in as much as possible.
Ive set the date, August 2 & 3. Anyone in the neighborhood, is welcome to come help....hint hint Chad!

Re: Project Second Chance - Fresh Update PG 17!
Let me start this post by saying one thing... I am not doing this again i swear. I know shes a project car, but if i ever have to do an engine again, i refuse to do it outside, on the ground, on top of rubber mats. Granted, they made things alot easier for me, but, in 94* heat on black rubber mats, never again.
Anyways, lets start this off with a couple pics.
My work area
The last pic of the 3100 in the car.
Trans and axles left behind
Hour and half rain delay, on top of another delay waiting for a damn clutch alignment tool.
Pic of the 88-91 heater core return line. It takes some bending and massaging to get this to fit perfectly in the 92+ cars due to the different mount design.
And, i was bored last friday at work, so on lunch i filled my extra trans mount. Used a heat gun to get a skin on it before i let it touch anything but my rubber glove.
That damn thing is super solid. Now i just need the cavy upper insert so i can get the passenger upper mount solid.
