Man those look good! The valves are at an angle and the chamber doesn't have the sharp edges that the Vortec heads do. That makes for a good mix with no vortices (which would make rich or lean spots). Though the one near the floor in the first pic looks like it was having some sort of trouble. Oil burn?
Do the 3100 heads have the same shape?

The dirty heads came off my stock 3400 that I blew two head gaskets on... That's why its so dirty.
The shiny one is one of the 3500 heads that's on the pink car now... I highly doubt they are anywhere near that nice now... LOL
and yes this is a splayed-valve train like a stock BBC not the same as the stock SBC style heads, it is also referred to as a very well designed combustion chamber and very efficient as well.
3100 3400 exactly the same, the 3500 chamber is slightly larger than the older ones though.

I tried to get a good burnout vid this weekend since my tires are almost done anyway, but no dice. I've tried a few times and it just drags the back tires. I even tried doing it uphill with a wheel chock on the back tire and a full tank of gas and my tool box in the trunk, but it wouldnt sit still. I guess that's a good thing? The big thing is: no wheel hop!
Here are a couple pics... the videos are weak.
And since I never added my calendar shot to this thread:

Ok, I give up on the burnout video idea. Even in the rain it hooks to well to sit there and get any decent smoke. I do love the fact that it hooks so well and doesnt wheel hop though. I also got a vid of a quick 1-2-3 takeoff.

hahahah that's in the same spot even! (With a 4spd and a garbage shifter)
The front wheel drives are a lot harder to get smoking...

ok wtf is up with the aspect ratio??? The rear of the car is all big and fat and huge and the front is all small... Like the front is far away and the rear is close.... Looks freaking weird!!!

All the people on bstuff were bitching about that too, that's why I didnt make the calendar. haha
I took that shot from a distance and used my 10x zoom. I think it's cool because it's something different. Apparently everyone else is afraid of different.

The distortion is giving me a headache! Reminds me of those caricature car drawings, but those are usually distorted on the front !

The back wheels look like 19's compared to the front. So strange
