You made it longer than most. LOL never pegged you as a Marine. Just saying........nothing ment by that.
I totally get what you mean! Most of the military is just kids right out of high school and we know how mature they are lol, I was no different back then but at the end of the day it's just to get a different experience from a typical job and when push comes to shove, everyone rises to the occasion so it's a pretty cool gig all things considered.

Status update: With school out of the way, I can finally focus some much needed time on my car.
Image

I loosened the bolts and drained the fluid from my extra transmission. I sent it off with my Quaife LSD to a transmission shop to see if they could put that sucker in seeing how the internals are a little beyond my capabilities+it's not like I have a press to but in new bearings either on the LSD. So either it works or it doesn't, I just got to wait for them to call me on the deal with that mumbo jumbo.

Image

My front tires were worn out, so I got two 300 treadwear 205/55R16 Dunlop Direzza DZ101s to plop up there. It's the same tires I ran in autoX back in 2012 so I know they're good....and cheap.

I also installed some yellow tint highbeam lights for show. I never use my highbeams...like, ever.

Lastly, I ordered that lightweight fidanza aluminum flywheel and am waiting for that to be made to order and shipped to my house.

and they are actually quite horrible in the rain from my experience.

So i got the call from my guy at the transmission shop and he said the LSD is a go. It fits right in there and so I managed to run around to get some new differential bearings and seals to throw on there to seal the deal (pun intended). I'm stopping by the shop tomorrow morning to drop it off and will hopefully get around to fixing my crippled car next week. The flywheel just shipped out today, and I should be getting that on Friday.

LOL, well I did have a name brand all season. With the way I drove back then they only lasted about a year. That was taking it easy almost.

So it will be road ready Monday?

I wish lol, I'll start working on it Monday because that starts my 3 day off block from work. I'll be out there no matter what the weather conditions as long as it's not thundering or lightning.

I'll have you know, i get my wheels balanced and mounted at the shadiest shop in the world; the thing is they are just so damn conveniently located near my house. I'm also to blame for letting them do that and being okay with it. They did the weights the same way with my cavalier z24 wheels. It definitely ruins the aesthetics and they tend to fly off after awhile. When I had my Drag DR-31s, they used the stickies. I think it would bother me more if I had cool pristine wheels, but alas by Z26 rims are the opposite of that.

Now to change gear, I got my lightweight flywheel today surprisingly. This thing is light (7.9lbs), I kind of felt like chucking it like a frisbee. It's go some superficial blotches peppered on there which will be erased from existence the first time I start breaking it in.

Well starting Monday is soon enough(lol).
Hell even NTB puts lead weights on aluminum wheels in this area. But this is a overpriced shady area. You should see how much they want for a car with over 150k on it.

If they fly off then they are also using steel wheel weights on aluminum wheels = double fail... There are many types of weights so that can be done but yeah it kills aesthetics as well as scratches off the clear coat and most of the time will attract corrosion to that one spot.

Everything is coming along nicely. I picked up the transmission from the shop and now I have all the pieces I need to put the car under the knife.

x2! It's going to be a fine handler no doubt, even better once I have some dough to track down some leftover inventory Koni inserts to put your adapters to good use; they're literal paperweights right now next to my computer. But alas, my car is still slow to get "motivated"....because 2.2. I really wanted to cram in the tighter gear ratio from the Isuzu Impulse but things can really get expensive if I don't pick and choose my battles.

I still say a velocity stack would help. The only problem I see with that is supporting the weight of the filter. The BPi stack is ABS and very light, but the K&N that goes with it seems to have a ton of weight.
Oops....one other problem. To get the most out of it you need to run 3in pipe from the stack to the TB. Then use a reducer for TB. I know of a few places to get pipe and reducers.
I have a BPi stack with a K&N. I was going to use it on the Beretta, but there is no room in the fender(CAI). Then I was going to use it on the Cavy, but the reducer would have to be on the stack. I may be able to pull off putting on the Cavy. That will be a major pain even with all the room in the fender.
So.....if you were able to find a way to support the weight I'd sell it for half price(45 bucks). Well that would be less than half, but close.

This offer is for you, Koots or 3X00. There is a buy back offer if the buyer doesn't like it. Really on a V6 there is just no room for a filter, even with a WAI. So 3X00 may be out.
