He's expecting no paint work since it was already fully painted... That's going to be tough though.

You must never watch reality TV either... they turn around cars like this in a week at Gas Monkey Garage.... LOL I'm kidding.......

There will be paint work for the firewall, engine, floor, rear, cage etc.

I am waiting to see how wide the tires will be in rear on the 16x7 factory wheel. 500hp and a Moser 12 bolt looks like serious business. Think of the offset change. You can cut and weld a ring into them to get a 8-9" wide GTU and mount some 255 radials.

Recall I mentioned the "Details List" was three pages?

All of these issues have been addressed.

The Pinto rack is manual but there are other options. Haven't decided yet.

Wheel Wizards have already been contacted to widen four wheels, two for street, two for drag radials. It can be done, just have to find the wheels. The chassis is getting a 2" mini tub and the stock width rear measurement.

The paint on the car will be fine. Hood, doors and trunk will all be off the car. The only paint will be whatever roll cage they decide on.

Car will likely run in the 11's so certification won't be required. (Figuring ~450 WHP and 3500 lbs)

The time line is December 1st to mid March. That will not be a problem.

These guys know what they're doing folks. Each chassis is mounted on a jig and it stays on there til it is a fully rolling chassis. Everything nice and straight and true.

Still some minor stuff to work out but nothing they haven't done before many times.

But I could use a Lottery win right about now, LOL!!

Best price I can find right now is Jegs at $13,163.99 for the engine, trans and controllers.

Free shipping to Buffalo NY.

GM is "suppose" to be having a crate engine sale in November. Should I wait?

LS-3 all aluminum 376/515 HP and a 4L70e trans with a warranty.

That's a lot of $$, but it's also ALOT of engine!!

WHY IS JEGS CHEAPER THAN GM!!

:runsies:

That's some serious dough for an engine and tranny And controllers. And who says money can't buy happiness!?!?

This seems cheaper to me, and you have a couple options on how much HP you want out of the crate.

Is 35 HP worth $1,000?

35hp at those levels can't be obtained after the fact for less than 1k... so quite possibly yes.

Difference appears to be a 110 LSA cam with 226/236 duration, vs 112 LSA with 219/228 Duration.

So how much would it cost to do a cam swap on that and re-tune it? That's what you need to look at.

Go big or go home.... LOL

What I'm wondering is if the trans and controller are worth $5000.

Going to talk to Billy.

I can't see why they wouldn't be... Stand alone controller for the 4t60e from TCI is $614 alone... that does the 4L70E too... so $4300 for a trans that will hold 525hp... and a warranty! yeah worth it... I can't even get a 4t60e for that price!

Ya I guess so.

Seems NOBODY actually stocks these things.

They all ship from Michigan, likely a GM warehouse I suspect.

That is why most of them say "Ships in 1-2 business days".

Not surprising... That would be an expensive part to be sitting on your shelf awaiting sale.

You don't know what you're missing if you haven't driven a 6spd.
