There's your problem your trying to stack them... and I really do think your over doing the primary size on these pipes... I think thats why you cant fit the pipes in the collector as well...

I'll try to find a pic of mine but since they are not stacked forward, but under each other I don't have clearance issues.

Why re-engineer a front header when there are ones out there that work perfectly fine with our setups... maybe just push it furter out away from the block so the 5-speed bell housing fits... no need to go crazy huge on pipe and run out of space quick.

There is no need for 1 5/8" primary pipes on these engines.

1 1/2" is MORE than enough. In fact it may actually hurt performance with the larger pipes.

Plus I'm going to reiterate what I suggested before.

Somehow ensure they will fit an early 90's Cavy.

You will sell what? Maybe six or seven Beretta sets. Even that I bet is pretty unlikely.

But there are a boatload of J-Body guys that will look at these.

1 5/8" was actually the recommended size in the Chevy Power book when that came out way back when...  I'll go get some pics of mine and post them later..

I wasn't trying to stack them at first. i've ran about 10 diff setup and have found/ think this could cuase problems down the road. running it this way will cut down on cost for me to build it, about 50$ from talking to the tube shop. so running this 50$ slim fan thats probably better than the stock fan is not putting more cost into the setup and you have no vacuum lines in the way, no wires in the way.

You still only looking at 450-500 ceriamic coated. witch is what 300 under s&s coated headers. and my quality will be as good as theres.

so moving the fan and making the fan slimmer is not that big of a deal. 5 min job and i'll suply the connector already connected to the fan to plug in your organal connector.

1-5/8 will not hurt hurt performance on a n/a but you will also benifit from a 1-5/8 with a built motor, a shot of nitrous, or forced induction.
Also remember 1-5/8 is outside diameter, its about 1-1/2 inside diameter and yes all companys go by od.

am i going over board on 1-5/8 maybe but i probably wont have to build a new setup when someone comes to me making 400hp

also on room that the only problem is the fan everything else clears awsome now. i'm 4- 5 in away from any wire, 3-4 in from any vacuum lines going to the tranny except the ont at the top of tranny about 2-1/2 in

Yes the chevy power book does say 1-5/8

will clear j-bodys with the slim fan.

remeber also alot of poeple have probably modified something on are cars and jbodys so the farther i keep them away from everything the better they will fit.

if i do it another way, people might have fixed there vacuum line going to there tranny mod. and ran it a new way. they put the header in and think that close to the header but i'm sure it will be ok they wouldn't sale me something if it was to close. Puts them on and starts driving then it melts that vacuum line and car wont go anywhere. now there pissed at me since it didn't fit right. just something to this about

Well for that price, i deffinitly wouldnt mind changing out my fan. Makes more room for working on the front of the engine anyway...

Keep up the good work

ya i think you guys will like it even if you have to move your radiator. its alot easier than mod. a header

just sent the email to my c&c guy with the messuments for the quad headers. should have the flanges buy the end of next week. i'm hoping to have these done in the next week or two and have them for sale in the next 2-3 weeks.
I'm going to start on the quads header as soon as i'm done with the 3x00 headers so while all the piping is at the tube shop i wont have anything to do so must move on and get more stuff done  i also need to install a motor and a h/c/intake setup on my ta

Anybody know if 3x00 headers would fit on a 3.1?
