OFFTOPIC! I need some info on the art when I go to the printer on Monday.

Can they contact you directly for whatever they need for you to provide?

Thanx Woody!
I'd be happy with a 14.50:1 AFR idle...

Sure. Have them get a hold of me for whatever they need.

Eric, I haven't heard from your tshirt place. Is everything cool?

Here are a few pics from the last couple days. The body guy missed a few spots that you couldn't see in direct sunlight that were fairly easily visible under artificial light, so I stole my dad's (new, unused) buffer and hit it with some 3M 6085 compound. After it all looked as good as I could get it, I put on a coat of Nu Finish. I used that stuff with my 95 back when the black paint was decent and really liked it. So far it looks pretty good on the metallic too. I'll be curious to see how it looks in the sunlight. (The outdoor pics here are from a couple days ago.)

Also, I went ahead & ordered a Dynomax VT muffler from Summit. Should be here tomorrow. From what I've read, their rattling problem has been solved. They have a $25 rebate and a 90-day warranty so if there is any reason at all I don't like it, I can send it back for a full refund. I don't really see how I can go wrong, so I'll give it a shot! Can't be worse than a Blowmaster...

Anyone have an extra wideband kicking around that I could borrow to use as a sanity check for my AEM?

This morning I changed the base pulse width by 20% and the idle looked much, much better right off the bat, but the part throttle was lean & stumbling. This leads me to believe it might be giving me a false rich reading at idle, like the dynojet operator's experience I linked to a few posts ago...

WOW! Looks like your glass. Oh and I'm in love with your upper intake. What happened to your washer tank cover?

Got my Dynomax VT today and that thing is awesome! Idle is super quiet compared to the Borla or the Flowmaster...part throttle is unfortunately a little reminiscent of the Flow, but there is no drone anywhere and decel doesnt cackle and fart like it did. WOT sounds awesome! A lot like the Borla did. Video is uploading now...

Got some pics of the paint too:

doesn't sound bad

come back in a month and make a new video once you get some miles on it.

paint looks good but you should catch the guy who put the SS badges on it.

You're jealous you don't have a Grand Am SS. Mine was a stupid GT before too!

Passed inspection again yesterday. Glad I don't have to pass a sniffer! haha

So it's officially a year I've had this pig on the road now and still haven't hit the drag strip. I need to shift my priorities...sorry, honey! hahaha

As far as the tune, Rodney took a look and suspects the new Napa o2 is junk...so I've spent the last few days trying to find the '04 3400 4kmi o2 that came with my engine to no avail. I wonder if it got chucked when I was moving stuff from my dad's garage to my own. I know I held on to it since '06...but it's nowhere to be found. And an ACDelco replacement is $100...son of a!

get a denso O2 senser. i had a bosch one in there that went bad on me in like 6 months (was stuck getting that since that is all they stock in parts stores).

ordered a denso one and it's been cool ever since.

try this site it's where i got mine from they are super cheap. looked one up for a 91 beretta and it was $15 on sale from $40. beyond that i dont know what year or car your going with for a part number.
IIRC the stock O2's are denso units
http://www.sparkplugs.com/Default.asp

what shape plug do you have for the o2 sensor hookup

the one for the 05 impala with the 3.4L is below. the beretta one is prob cheaper since it's prob not the heated one.
Denso OE identical O2 sensor 234-4343 234-4343 Front Sale: $47.57 $146.38
for a 99 grand am different inside of the plug. same shape but different layout inside vs the impala
Denso OE identical O2 sensor 234-4018 234-4018 Front Sale: $38.59 $111.10
i have had mine on the road 2yrs and have only been to the track that one time. just renewed the plates last month. hopefully ill be hitting the track before the end of the year. if it's not uber cold and whatnot ill be tagging along when all the Grand Am people do the Atco meet in Nov

I looked and they didnt have a sensor for a "91 Beretta SS." WTF!? haha

I'll give a look tonight at my dad's garage to see if I left the '04 o2 over there somewhere, and if not I'll try the Denso '91 o2 just for shits & grins since it's so cheap & easy to install.

FAIL

go for the denso one. like i said they are OEM units just like the car rolled out the door with well except for the elusive Beretta SS.

the bosch one was fine for a few months then it would start getting slow and throwing codes.

Yup, checked dad's garage and it's still MIA. So after 4 years of holding on to the damn thing, it must have been chucked when I moved my stuff from his garage to mine.

Tried to order the Denso o2 tonight and that damn site aint workin...so I'll try again tmo. I did find a coupon code for 10% off though: DEN1NOE. So I'm gonna pick one up for the truck too. That things absolute crap mileage, and it's probably the original 230k sensor so it can't hurt to replace it.

Had to order by phone today, but the sensors are on the way. Probably gonna be Friday before I get them though.
