Rock auto? They are 12 dollars.

Did you check the connections at the ecm like I said as well, Woody?

Oh, crap! Nope...not yet. I'll try to remember to do that tonight. I was working on the garage this weekend and not the car.

Today I finished up the new full 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust. The old exhaust was from the 95Z done in '06 and it was getting rotten. It was 2.5 press-bent done by a local shop that necked down to 2.25 over the axle "because 2.5 wouldn't fit." Basically, they were lazy. My Borla bullet wasn't offset like the Dynomax VT either, so placement was different. I kept the muffler close to the axle to hide it, and to improve the sound. Piping after the muffler smooths it out a little. I also put in a flange just before the axle to make removal easy if I need to. I bent & cut a couple clamps to make hooks for the stock 91 rubber hangers at the back seat area too. Ground clearance is a little better than it was too.

Looks good... Only way it could've looked better is if it came off in 1pc on a mandrel bending machine...

That reminds me of why my exhaust doesn't go over the axle...

If you think that looks annoying to do, try the older model with plastic gas tank.... %)

That's why my 91 has a steel 95 gas tank! haha

lol.. 2.5" won't fit over the axle. Useless exhaust shops.

I have 3" front to back.. pretty sure its over the axle. And my car is about the lowest car around these days..

Good job Woody.

Gotta smooth out the welding a bit but not bad otherwise... I think this is what I will do sometime, but instead of 3 bolt flanges I'm going to do the V-band clamps like I have for my cat section.

It's tough to make a pretty weld without the pipes butting together perfectly. Being flat black underneath the car no one will see it though! And no one will even hear it until I romp the go pedal. Those of you who remember the 95Z will be amazed at how quiet this Dynomax VT is, especially considering it flows better than the old exhaust.

= royal pain in the ass to weld...

You end up with globs, or burn through as you've found out.

It's even more fun tacking them together underneath the car where the helmet doesnt fit. That's when you get it close...look away & pull the trigger! haha

I loved doing my truck exhaust because it was so easy to get to.

So even with the new Denso o2 the tune isn't right. ECM still pulls fuel, but it does seem to even the idle out to about 14.7 in closed loop though, which is an improvement.

Are you still running the non headed o2? and where is the O2 placed? in the cross over part supplied by S&S? or down lower?

Yes, 1-wire. Pretty sure my '04 4k sensor got chucked when I moved a bunch of crap out of my dad's garage in June. Yes it's in stock location, about 6" downstream of my wideband on the crossover pipe of the back header.

A few weeks ago I tried leaning out the VE tables for idle and the lower part of the rpm/load side and the wideband was still mostly reading rich and the BLMs were still under 128 as well, but the car had some weird lean spikes and hesitation. The o2 mV in the datalog were all over the place too.

Hopefully between the new sensor and some of Rodney's help this weekend I can get it dialed in better. WOT is still low 12s too.
