Robert didn't use that SPEC because he had an issue with it not disengaging. They changed to standard thicknesses to simplify production and he got a mixed set...1 old and 1 new. I really love my Camaro's 3+, but I'm not happy with this Beretta 2.

My pass axle popped out easy as pie...again...and it has every time. It's just the driver one that slips in to the diff that doesn't come. The jackshaft comes out of the diff ok because there's no spring clip. I might buy this bad boy and see if it works: http://www.tooltopia.com/otc-tools-7509 ... lebase_18u

ive never had them that hard to pop out. i have my new clutchmaster stage2 clutch hopefully when im done with the gtps in my driveway ill have way with the beretta as i have a ton of parts to put in to it. i have to start a new photobucket so i can keep track of what i do to this car.

and the difference in those clutches look to be one of them being their + design of being full face and the other is their 6 puck which is a standard staged clutch

that may get the sucker out, as well as break that clip...

I've done that twice before... I had to pry so much the clip ended up getting sheared off in the trans.

I only had this issue on my first diff where he did machine the face of the spiders to fit the springs in there... I'm not sure if he did that on yours or not... But it may also be that clip is a bit fubar... Once you do get it out I suggest trying to find a stock clip and use that instead, or compress that one more and round the edges if you can.

And of course if you have the trans apart, test fit it a few times to ensure it will come out ok. I'll be doing that with my intermediate shaft this time around since I cant get to the middle of the diff with my current LSD pack.

When I do get it out, you can bet that any spring clip going back in will be rounded and tested. I'd be pretty willing to bet he machined the bevel out of the spider gears though.

Shane, the double full-faced one is my regular stage 2, and the 6-puck on one side is Robert's. He'll have to confirm what stage it is, but his is also full faced on the other side. How much did the Clutchmasters run you and what's the torque rating?

According to their website and pics, Robert sent you a 2+ disc.

You might want to test fit his whole setup to see if it works as is... The Plate may be different in a good way for you.

That's available as a loaner tool from AutoZone.

Hopefully his disc was the old in his incompatible old/new pair. His whole setup didnt work, it wouldn't release. Hopefully my 2009 pressure plate and his disc will work. I'm going to call SPEC with thickness measurements and ask.

I checked my email at lunch at Robert confirmed it's a 2+. SPEC's site says the torque rating is 390 for the 2+ and 310 for the 2. (I don't have much faith in their ratings though.) While I love my 3+ in the Camaro, it's rated by SPEC for 800lbft and my car is only just upwards of 400.

Thanks Cliff, that's good to know...but the closest AutoZone is a 2 hour drive. haha

i found it on ebay here is the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

i will see how it does come next month sometime as i have a hefty load to get done on the beretta like suspension, interior needs to be finished, downgrade the brakes in frt and put my rear disc conversion together bought the setup off ebay for 80 shipped calipers, hub, backing plate with all cables from 02 neon and have to take to machine shop to get them to fit.

autozone is like 2 minute drive for me :)~

Oh, is that a "Clutchmasters" ripoff? I see it says "eClutchmaster" and it's about $400 too cheap.

I gotta do my rear disc too. I was gonna measure for braided brake hoses and never got to it this weekend. I also need a braided brake hose for my clutch line, I already have the adapters.

PWNED! lol

and Woody, I'm a little confused on what Robert has and had and what he sent you... the old/new designation is confusing the hell out of me.

Did he get a completely new clutch setup when his first one wouldn't disengage? And is the pressure plate and disc the full setup that wouldn't disengage?

Wow, I just searched it... 41 miles away FTL.

Maybe some of the other chains have it too? I have no reason to check because I work at AutoZone on the weekends....

41! Wow, that's close! The closest one I knew of was Utica. haha I'll search it.

Jon, yes Robert got a completely new clutch from SPEC when he had his problem. The one I have is the setup that did not work and they didn't ask him to return. The reason it didnt work was SPEC changed their production process shortly before he ordered, and he ended up with an incompatible pair of old/new stock. So I'm hoping his disc was the old way and the pressure plate the new way, so my 2009 pressure plate would work with his old-style disc. I called SPEC last Sept and they said I couldn't reuse my pressure plate with a new disc from them because it was from 2009 (the old configuration.) That should clear it up.
