I didnt get a calendar before cafepress pulled it.

I did get some drugs today though...a steroid & antibiotic for bronchitis. Hoping to be productive again soon...I know I'm absolutely slammed at work with this being my 4th day off. I need this crap DONE WITH.

sounds familiar... Been sick since Wed... was good enough Thursday afternoon to go to work... But then Friday didn't go back in... still out today. Going to a doctor hopefully tonight to figure out what I need... Bad cough and congestion...

Yeah, I was out Tues-Thurs, made it a whole day Friday buy still felt like crap. I decided it was time to go to the doc when I was coughing up blood this weekend, but I waited until today cause my PC copay is $15 and my ER copay is $250.

PC? Why on earth would you go to the ER?

I just went to a walk in medical clinic since I knew my Family doctor wouldn't be able to get me in yesterday at the last minute... There is NO need to go to the ER unless your sliced open broken bone or worse... Thats one of the problems with people these days, the ER is for an emergency not for when your sick, your issue however could have classified as an appropriate visit since you were coughing up blood. But still you could just go to any walk in clinic and get a prescription for some antibiotics like I did.

I was told I possibly have phenomia so they gave me Levaquin and some heafty cough syrup. I already feel a bit better one day later after taking one pill just like my mom said... the 48hr mark I should feel even better.

I live in a piss-ant town, so if it's not 8-5 M-F, there is no primary care open. That's why I waited until Monday. It's still kickin my ass pretty bad though. I'm deciding now if I'm good enough to go back to work today...

Yeah, this winter has had a rash of shitty colds going on. I have been sick at least 3 different times this season, with nasty sinius/hacking crap. Anyways. Not sure I would make it through the next winter's colds.... Hmmmm. Interesting thought. 2012. The year the world died due to a common cold. LOL

Brought the calipers home from work today, and my old smoked clutch is .305" thick and Robert's basically brand new disc is .325" thick. Seems to me that is a minimal difference considering the amount of travel in the whole clutch system, so it'll be interested to see what SPEC has to say.

Just got off the phone, surprisingly they're open for tech calls past 5. The guy told me to give it a shot with the 2+ disc. He was unsure of why the stage 2 didn't hold, but the added torque capacity in the 2+ should help. I emailed him pics and he's supposed to let me know what he thinks.

Reply from tech:
No problem. The disk looks surprisingly good actually. The deterioration looks like maybe a little bit of glazing occurred (Kevlar can do that), and then pulled away @ the surface when the pressure plate released… not uncommon, but not usually seen. It might have gotten a little hot during a burnout or something? The darker areas are a bit more degraded on the surface… probably explains a slightly diminished capacity, but the pressure plate might also be down a little bit partially due to time.

Let me know how that other disk works out. If it turns out to just not cut it, we’ll get your other parts in here for evaluation of clamp load, disk integrity, etc… I might not be able to do a “free” replacement, but I can certainly help get you into something for a break.

Thanks for the pic… it’s a good shot. Some people send terrible cellphone pics and they’re not identifiable. Ha!!!

Matt

I'm wondering what he means about the pressure plate, since it only has less than 5000 miles on it, but all in all I think it's worth throwing the 2+ disc in there to see how it holds up.

My Summit order should be here in a few days...got metal LIMGs for the 3400 and braided hoses for the clutch & rear disc. I also got some rod ends to make my own endlinks for the FE7 bar too. I got an adjustment sleeve from Speedway Motors since Summit didnt have anything that would work. I finally unpacked the KYB struts I bought a year or so ago and got working on mocking up a DIY FE7 bracket too. With any luck it will start coming together by next weekend...

hahaha I have a Napa in town, that's it...and they close at 5:30. That's one reason I love Summit so much!

I'm amazed that your surprise of this... Hell if you travel to your next closest state east things are WAY further apart than 41 miles... lol I'd think even though you have places that close to you it wouldn't surprise you when someone is that far from something. I've been out west... 41 miles out here is NOTHING compared to how empty it is out there.... LOL

I have an advance less that 5 min from my house but they never have anything in stock, neither does the Napa that's pretty much the same distance... So thats why I buy from Rockauto most the time. Hard to beat their prices as well.

Damn, where i am out here in the west, i have 2 and three of every store within a 25 mile diameter lol Sucks to be 41 miles from something i do have to agree there. RA is a live saver at times, but i have seen a couple things from them be more expensive (same product and everything) than one store here in town i get stuff from too. Just depends where you are.

UPS brought me goodies. I did have to take the hideous gold anodizing off though. A quick google search and some oven cleaner later the sleeves look much better. Tested the master & slave fittings with the -3 hose and it works perfect.
