It looks like Fairfield Cadillac-Buick in Keene, NH should have one in stock (603) 499-4300.

Talked with a "Paul" there who was very helpful, and his computer had the number in stock, but nothing on the shelf.

The trans place in Florida hasn't called back.

Got my UPS# from Tech Line and the header coating won't be here until Monday.

That's 3 strikes for today.

I emailed Jeff at EP and maybe there is hope for one there. Otherwise I'll have to remove it without wrecking it and get some dimensions. The parts guy in Keene couldn't get me any more info on it other than a picture.

haha i was saving this post but that auto trans isn't looking so bad right now is it.

you should try the F23. newer trans and there should be a good amount of them still out in the yards and plenty more on the road that will be in the yard in the future.

With about $400 in clutch parts, $800 in axles, $200 in clutch forks and a $400 LSD for the HM282...I'll be sticking with it.

financially speaking i can see your reason to stick with it.

that's a hell of a price tag to ditch the auto.

Went to Napa and they have a bearing book...but no dimensions for a 91 HM282. So I pulled it out and measured it to hopefully find something. It's all one sealed unit...so I don't know how I can really do anything with it other than live with a little seepage. The assembly manual actually says to align the bearing with the oil seepage hole pointing down...so apparently it's common and can't be the end of the world.

Here are a couple pics. If you look closely you can just barely see the seal inside between the bearing and the tob sleeve.

Cliff, don't you have a connection at AZ? Can you check this pn and see if it's for real? BK234

The pic is application-correct, but it might be a fairy tale.

Yeah, it's pressed in to the bellhousing and the throwout bearing rides on the sleeve and the oil seal is inside.

I'll call and find out. I've already spent half the price on detent covers and axle seals but they will be good spares then. haha

Edit: Just bought a kit. The guy on the tech line said it was in there, so he better be right.
