You are so far behind it's not even funny... LOL These are 3500 heads I've been running them since 2008 in this car, and actually they were in red for a year or so before I got pinky. SO they are the same port and polish I had before. You can see the exhaust is smooth and the intake is a little rough for turbulence. Most of what you see in the exhaust port is actually carbon and not the finish. These are SI SS valves and something to note... A stock 3500 exhaust valve is 100% stainless already, Intake I can't remember if it's the same. You would also NEVER have heads serviced prior to porting and polishing... I'd do that first and I have 2 sets of heads that I may do someday just to have spares

And no not graphite again... I bought the MLS gaskets so I could get .051 compression thickness and get to my desired 10.5:1 compression.

Haha I have so much on my mind on top of your 3100 plenum always confusing and disguising things, and I was looking at the pics on my tiny Driod Turbo screen so I could not tell... I knew about the 3500 valves being SS i just thought you had mentioned before about the si valves,
Just go 15:1 and run E85 with some 80lb injectors LOL

Trying some new things....
Had to re-do the valves since this was only a test and I had not surface prepped them enough. I did a torch test and it held up to direct torch flame very well until I hit a tiny spot that had something under it which caused it to bubble. SO I will be cleaning them up really good tonight and then re-spraying them.

Slow going but it's progress...
Pushrods on order and I'm going to be fitting the re-positioned windage tray tonight.

This motor is looking pretty rad. Hopefully I can take a look at it at in person!

Did a little bit of work this weekend between removing the heater box from my wife's Forester... I got the windage tray installed and also put the front timing cover on. Now ready for the oil pan and lower intake and it will be 90% closed up. Leaving the valve covers off till I get the pushrods. I hope to have it buttoned up to that level by Wednesday night... Tonight I'm busy and tomorrow I offered to help finish up the race car prep work... TOO MUCH GOING ON LATELY!

This crap hasn't come easy tho... Lots of work and money in this project to get it to where it is. And the car has just been a slow progress since 08 to figure everything out and also get it to where it is. I don't want to say this but I can almost guarantee I will learn something from this build... Hopefully it won't be from a negative thing happening tho.

I can tell ya what I've learned to accept with these types of vehicles/builds...
Dont think about what it costs, and don't expect high (performance) achievements , while knowing with what ever you're doing/planning to take longer than scheduled.

I wouldn't go that far... I think with this platform and what I have done the achievements I have reached are pretty high. I think it's more of the statement of you need to think realistic when you make performance mods and understand what you will actually get in the real world.
And what I mean by learn something I feel that I will learn one of the mods I did this year is either useless or is bad... And I'm hoping I find out that one was just useless and doesn't cause any issues. To be honest I'm really nervous about running the DRTC again with what happened the first time... And the crappy part is I wont know how its working unless it starts to make noise OR I pull the timing cover to inspect it... PITA!

With the time/money invested into your Beretta stuff... Imagine what you could achieve (reach) with a different vehicle. That's my comparison to the expectations.
DRTC, mine will get some run time. When, I dont know. I am also leary, but have had no time to complete the engine to find out what will happen. Honestly, it's on the low list of leary things to cause failure entertainment. My eye is on other potential areas.

Yes but then you wouldn't be so different. I think mid 12's with a V6 is pretty respectable and I honestly feel that the only reason why thing's take more time and money is because of the lack of aftermarket so you need to either mix and match, or custom make stuff work and I think that brings more pride to the build vs just another Camaro with a cam and headers, or another overly boosted Subaru.... LOL It's all been done.
