Ok so i have 94 corsica i bought for a cheap work car...and its got the typically lame 3-gauge cluster. Got 3 full clusters that worked when i pulled them. But my question is, is there an easier way of changing mileage on the clusters other than swaping the odometers number deals around? Like is there a part of the grid on the back you can hook power to?

The corsi has 121200 on it.

One cluster from a 93 gt, reads 202k
One from a 94 Z, reads 190k.
And the last from a 92 gt reads an amazing 325k!

I hate not having a tach or oil gauge, or volt gauge. And i know about swapping the oil sender already.

I thought only 91-93 and 94-96 were interchangable within those years. The white line goes away for the latter 3, and the background goes from solid black to black with squares or lines in it.

As for the odometer, you could make a sticker with the old mileage and the current milage on one of the clusters, and figure out that way when need be.

Other than that, I don't know. Hopefully someone else has more to add!

To the best of my knowledge, the only way to do it is to take the cluster apart and manually roll back the mileage. You can do it without "breaking" it (making the silver lines pop up between the numbers). Take one of the extra clusters apart to figure it out, it's not difficult once you see what you have to do.

Any of those clusters will work in your car; the 94+ have the checkerboard pattern on them instead of the plain backing w/ the white stripe around the idiot lights, as the 91-93's have.

Rolling back the odo is tricky at first but not bad. I have done it 3 or so times for inspection reasons. I do keep track of my mileage just for curiosity tho

Yeah i hear ya. i have another base cluster i could care less about that came with a 92 dash i bought for my 88. So ill take that apart. I just dont wanna swap in a cluster and go, i wanna still see the same miles as before too, just more gauges. I try to keep stuff as accurate as i can. The 325k cluster will go in the 88 for the hell of it.

Did the same with my ramcharger when the speedometer broke. Took no work tearing '86 dodge truck clusters apart and switch the number roll deals around.

You coming down to Omaha for the ICC this year?

Not sure. I dont have anything special to take. The berettas down, and the ramcharger isn't running the best. All i have to bring is a Corsica lol. When is it? Did you come to Rock 'n Rods this year?

IF its the brad i think youre talkin about, i know him. Lol. I have to work to it falls on a saturday, which is too easy of a day to miss to go embarrass myself with a corsica. Lol. Now if my 'retta was up and going, id go.

I think the 96 is the only year that is not interchangeable.

Correct... the tach is fed from the ECU not the ICM like 95 and older. That is the only difference though... so you can run a 95 dash on a 96 with a one wire change... (one of the changes listed in my OBDII harness thread)
