well, as the title says, since i owned my first red gtz 3.1 in 2005, ive always wanted a red quad 4 beretta gtz. back in 2010 i finally found one for sale, a 91, rust free, sunroof, in absolute mint condition, and you could eat off the underside, it was so clean, however, i left for georgia for training, and when i came back it was gone, so i searched craigslist everyday, bnet, and many other sites and one day it popped up on cardomain, so i managed to contact the owner through there and after another 2 years from the first time i could buy it, i finally purchased it last night for $500 with a blown head or gasket. the motors getting a complete rebuild and im going to put my ported and polished 086 head on it wich has a 3 angle valve job, im going to get w41 cams and a fidanza flywheel, i have the block wich is also honed and new rings, just need a few other little odds and ends to get it together, the cars going to get restored to better then new condition, but dont expect it to happen over night, eventually with in the next year or 2 new paint will go on it, the wheels will be redone, new struts, shocks, eibach springs, and soo much more is in the cars future, most of wich i already own, but it brings up one question wich has me wondering, does kyb make a strut for the 91? or is it 92-93 thats a problem?? i know one of the years doesnt have the tab thing. comments and questions are welcome!!!
oh, i guess you guys want some pictures... lol.

after about an hour, thats as far as i got, not a big hurry, my engine hoist is in use as well as the stand.

i picked these up on craigslist fairly cheap, im not sure if im going to put them on yet or not.. suggestions??

I have KYB's on my 91 and KYB still lists them in their online catalogue.
Nice find and congrats on finding your much sought after Quad

91 should have the end link bracket on the strut, not the welded tab. So you can use any strut you want.

HA... if they did I wouldn't have done what I did, And most people probably wouldn't get KYB's

All the KYB GR2/Excel G struts for the 87-91 Beretta's are the same. No KYB's come with swaybar tabs.

What is the difference between the 91 struts and 92 struts.... I thought they were the same for all years but I guess not... But at the same time I guess you could put a full 96 setup in something older. That is if you don't need the said tabs.

92-93 use longer swaybar links that bolt to the struts. the 90-91 have brackets that bolt to the knuckle.

I'm aware of that, and that is for FE7 but why does KYB list two different part numbers since its known that KYB does not have these said tabs for the direct acting swaybar. They list 87-91 IIRC and then 92-96 for year stretches for the two different front sets. If neither one has these tabs, whats the difference between the two struts?

maybe the 87-91 has the swaybar tab. I see it in the pic of both on tirerack. plus the price is $1 more for the other 87-91 style so obviously they are different.

No tab in the pic on Rockauto...
I think the one on Tirerack is a misrepresentation of the part... because first off if what you said was true its backwards from how it came from the factory... I can't see why they would put the tab on the years that had a bracket and then never offer the strut with a tab on the years they actually need it...
I'll send KYB an email and find out whats different between the two left side numbers.

No KYB's had sway bar tabs... Wait, didn't I say that already up there ^^^
Jon, I'm curious as well to know what the difference is between the two year ranges as I have the KYB's on my can and bought them from Rock Auto.

Only thing that comes to mind is the brake change.. but that shouldn't have made any difference since some have put 92 knuckles and brakes on a 91 with no issues with the strut.
I sent them an email so we'll see.

sorry, scd88ga I quit listening to condescending a-holes over 5 years ago. ; )
The only other difference is in the strut mounts. perhaps the threads are longer on the 87-91.
