I just got myself a used gtz front swaybar, but the diameter just looks to small, i wonder if i got ripped off? what is the normal diameter?
can the direct acting bar be converted to work with the normal mounting points on the control arms? or should i just get GTZ front struts?

Well, the whole point of the GTZ swaybar is that it's direct acting. A GT swaybar is actually thicker. You don't need the struts from a GTZ, just the mounting brackets that bolt right on which were used on '90 and '91 models. Of course you'll need the end links too.

Ok, it looks good then. so even though it's thinner the GTZ bar is better? and i need to get the 90-91 mounting brackets.
anything else?

Yep, you'll notice a siginificant amount of steering feel compared to the regular bar. One of the reasons the bar doesn't need to be as thick as the regular FE3 bar, etc.. is because being direct-acting it is moving the same distance that the suspension is, the regular ones don't (they move less).

Now you just need double rear swaybars.

In this particular situation, the mounting points are more critical to overall leverage.

The same brackets also were used on the INDY. I guess you can make your own. They bolt to the top? bolt on the strut, where the spindle mounts to the strut.

They bolt to both the top and bottom bolts. No, it probably wouldn't be that hard to make some brackets. The stock ones are made so that they fit around the curved edge of the lower bracket on the strut (that bolts to the spindle/knuckle/whatever).
