If it's an 89 doesn't he have the wrong panels? The 89 had the seat belts in the door.
Edit: I know the panels shown are 92-93 but wouldn't he need 94-96 as they also had belts in the door?

You sure? I know there was some holdover from 87-90 that made it into the 91 model year. But know I am confused as to what it was.

The official interior change to the new style was 91. I have personally never seen a 91 with the old interior, if there even were such cases they are rare.
#edit. Holdovers are rather to be found in the engine bay, 91 has old motor mounts, anti-freeze/wiper wash fluid tank setup, firewall covers, still no ABS, and so on. Thats pretty much like in 1990, and was altered for the 92 model year. Actually, the 91 has the most sophisticated new style dash version, with the real metal chevy emblem on the steering wheel, that disappeared from 92 already. However the door panels are identical.
Having a 91 and a 92 GTZ allows me to compare. They are quite different under the hood, even the Quad4, wich changed every year, or more frequently, anyways.

No I don't mean there was a 91 with the older interior. But I know there was something held over. The steering column, trim part, something.

shift cables and shifter are the only thing i can think of that would be the same from 90 in the 91 interior. everything else is about as different as it gets and theres nothing from a 92 i cant use in my 91 interior... except... the shifter because 91 has pin type, and 92+ has the bushing type.

Thinking about it I believe what it was was the grey color. The grey that the 91 uses is different then the grey from 92+.
