WTB 92+ V6 5spd Tranny

Simple, can't find any locally so... does anyone have one laying around? Atleast a v6 bellhousing so I can swap my quad trans to v6 bellhousing. ( I know quad tranny has different gearing but for now that'll do)
Doesn't matter, internal or external slave. But trans has to be 92+ for the mounts.
Also, does anyone know if the quad 4 trans jackshaft will work on the v6? Probably not....just wondering. Also would need one if it doesn't fit.
I would probably have to get it shipped unless someone has one in south Texas. ...? Price shipped to 78577.
Thank You.

Just posted in your other thread but see you're from Texas...and my spare stuff is the old style mounts. Find a v6 92-93 will be tough...most of them were earlier. You can drill an older bell for the 92+ mounts. I've looked into that because of my header clearance issue with my 91 mounts.

Would a cavalier 3.1 5 speed trans from a 92 work?

Top mount maybe, but can't make the older bell housing work with the newer front mount, totally different casting there.
Quad trans with V6 bellhousing works.
The gearing is not that different than in V6 and both gearing's do suck. I'd make sure to use 3.64 FDR at least.
I'd recommend changing all the drive train mounts to pre 92 style, since they are superior when used with manual transmission. / 0.02€
I think Cavaliers never got the new horrible style mounting.

You can use the Quad 4 jack shaft, but you will have to make up a custom bracket to mount it to the engine. You MUST modify the V6 bracket anyway to use it so its up to you what you wanna do. The 3500 has slightly different mounting points on the block for that bracket compared to 3400s and 3100s, its very close but DO NOT force it or you will kill your diff bearings in the trans.
Also, if you use the Quad 4 jackshaft, make sure the pass side axle is a quad axle. And likewise with a v6 jackshaft, match it with a v6 axle. The quad jackshaft is about 3/4 of an inch longer than the V6 shaft, so the axles are different lengths to compensate.
Oh and one more thing - I know you are dying to get the swap done but I wouldn't bother with swapping bellhousings and using your quad tranny. 1st gear will be totally useless if you do. There are V6 transmission out there, did you look on
www.car-part.com? Check both 92 and 93 years, you can use either or, but they will not crossreference because one is internal slave and one is external.

That reminds me, there is a 92 or 93 GT beretta in the yard up in the Ontario area north of me, with black interior, 3.1 MPFI mated to a 5 speed. May see if anyone wants parts, but that place won't be overly cheap. Has a Z04 spoiler, clear lower filler, etc.

More horsepower, more torque, more fun.
