Timing chain question?!

Post by Themanytoys »

My engine has 250,000 miles on it, I'm doing a tear down, I never changed the chain before.

Is there a how to out there?

I think you meant 'mortar'. =@

Most service manuals, like Haynes or Chiltons, have good step-by-step instructions with pictures, torque-specs, etc. They are cheap. I would highly suggest investing in one of those if you are going to do any serious engine work to your car. Most timing-chains are easy on these cars, unless you have a Quad, and even they aren't that bad if you have a service-manual to help you along.
