quad help

Post by jking18 »

1994 Grand Am 2.3 sohc quad LO. The head gasket was replaced and the car is running hotter than usual. Any ideas as to what it could be? My information on this car is very limited. It was given to my gf after sitting for 3-4 years. It ran hot until they parked it.

I had a '92 with the same engine. Make sure the coolant level is good, and very meticulously bleed all air out of the system. Aside from that, a bad thermostat is the most likely problem. My '92 had some overheating issues too, but mine was mainly caused by a bad cooling fan.
