Well things are getting better.....

I finally had time this weekend to get some "tasks" done as per the wife's request. Hehe. I cleaned out my carport almost totally so that's getting ready for it's conversion in the late spring. Changed the oil in the truck, made 2 trips to the recycling center, fixed my leaking shower(damn $40 part), and (I think) fixed the boiler in my house.
Those of you that were on Bstuff knew the **** I had with that. They came to my house to look at it, told me I needed an "injector pump" which is not the right part. They then called me and told me $389 just for the part then about 2-3 hours of labor billed at $155/hour. so it would have cost me damn near $900 to get it fixed by thm. It seems like the person who came to my house didnt want to work on it. He told me when he first got here that he has never seen the boiler I have before...... I wanted to tell him to leave right then. Long story short, there is a motor with an impeller fan at the top of the boiler. That whole assembly is $209+tax/shipping from what I found. I took the whole top of the boiler off and sprayed pblaster and some white lithium grease in the motor and it's quiet and working properly now. So I dont need to get that motor yet.
Got my tax return so we have been looking at what things are going to cost to do stuff we wanted. That and I got a $1,675/year increase at work. We are going to be converting our "florida room" into a dining room in about 3 weeks so that'll be nice. I'm going to be doing about 80% of the work. My uncle and brother are helping with the framing and I'm pretty much doing the rest. It's not going to cost me all that much cause I have 2 windows and an Anderson sliding door to go in there already...... for FREE. sheetrock is like $6/sheet, OSB 4x8 sheething is $5/sheet and 2x4 studs are $1.75 per so it's going to be nice and cheap. The mopst expensive thing is going to be the tiles and the siding that I'm going to do.
All in all, it's going to be a fun couple months coming up and I'm happy I didnt have to spend money I didnt have to yet.
