Hi,

I have a problem with the vehicle and have before 1:00 PM tomorrow to get the vehicle to the check place to correct their records because they listed a Beretta INDY (In mint condition) with 171,000 miles and not 17,000 miles!!! D:
The car passed all of its tests and then died about a half hour later when i went to put it in the garage after it sat in a show for a while....
Had to get towed home....FAIL!!! D:

(All happened within 2 days, evening & morning...)
1990 Chevrolet Beretta INDY 3.1 L. V6 (ALL STOCK) (NOT: The 3100 V6 like 1996 berettas have)

What happens(d): IN ORDER!!
1) Car started then stalled immediately after and would not run. (COLD & HOT).
2) Replaced Electronic Ignition modal the coils attach to, still same symptoms... (WHEN HOT & COLD)
3) Replaced MAP sensor, car has no MAF, still same symptoms... (HOT & COLD)
4) Checked throttle position sensor when COLD (0-5 volts proper readings and proper angle number too...)
5) Proper fuel pressure all of the time, return valve works great.... (Still same problems)... (HOT & COLD)
6) Checked fuel filter and gasoline even used new gasoline from another vehicle...
7) Replaced Crank position sensor and then it started and ran fine!!! ( COLD )
- After same symptoms were happening, would not start or stall immediately...
8 ) The vehicle got to half way on temperature and then died... SAME SYMPTOMS AGAIN...FAIL D:
- Immediately stalls after starting...
- WHEN IT WAS ON: I had went to revv the engine and it died, restarted fine, pressed peddle and immediately died again...
- NEVER Checked throttle position sensor when it was hot, COULD THIS BE??????
9) Installed new OEM properly gapped with 0.045 and still same symptoms... (HOT & WARM)
10) ALL plastic vacuum hoses are in tact and clean...

PLEASE!! What do you think is happened???? I am running out of time and ideas, like I said, the vehicle records were messed up and I have limited time to fix the issue before they mess up my cars title and red flag my car for tampering when its a mint show car!!! D:

I have the following on the way:
1) 6 New factory Injectors.
2) I already have a new computer to swap out with because I have another 1990 Beretta INDY but its been used a bit....
3) Vehicle itself has original spark wires and Can easily change them with new ones...
4) All coils secondary were well within the ohm readings but are original coils...
5) I had already swapped battery for suspicion of dead cell but was not it....
6) EGR, I have like 3-4 at home here can easily swap out if its broken...
7) DEFIANTLY NOT THE TCC BEING A PROBLEM BECAUSE I NEVER TRIED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE...

Thank you all for your help with this, like I said I'm running out of time, options and nervs, and the car just happen to do this just after it was checked at vehicle emissions... D:

I would try the coolant tempature sensor. The one on the rear head is the one I'd try first.

Your headed in the right direction. I feel that this could be a injector signal or power issue. Have you checked voltage to the injectors? You could have a bad or loose wire causing intermittent power to the injectors. Same goes for the injector grounds(the ecu grounds the injectors to fire them, they always have voltage).

Either way, with you replacing the computer and injectors you are eliminating a good amount of things.

Good luck!

17k mile car... Sound to me like failed injectors, or injector power problem due to sitting all the time, probably not having treatment done to the gas or the injectors prior to storage... I seem to recall another member a while back with a 3.1 MPFI engine having a similar issue. His would run till it got warm then shut down and not start or stay running. Turned out two of his injectors were bad causing electrical problems with the injectors. He replaced them and poof. No more problems.

Looks like you haven't been back(last time on line is when you posted this). Did you get it fixed?

I am curious if it was fixed as well... I too think the Fuel Injectors are dead. Probably shorted out. I had 4 of the 6 go bad on my 88 2.8l. With these engines one bad one can/kill the rest. We couldnt figure the problem out either. it would start and idle fine but give it any throttle and it would fall flat on its face and die. even the mechanics couldnt figure it out because it idled perfectly. It sat for probably 5 months until I got to working on it again... took me about an hour total to have the injectors changed out and have the car running even on 5 month old gas.

Hey sorry I haven't been back to reply to this...
I just wanted to confirm that this car was fixed...
It was the injectors... I had changed all of them just cuz and the car runs perfectly...
Their was a lot going on at the time, with trying to get cars working because stuff magically breaks...lol
Thankz all for the help,
I was just frantic about it because of the car being perfect and I was working nonstop to try and fix their mistake on my stuff...lol
