There are horror stories of guys trying to get them to fit properly, and from what I have read the company really doesn't care much.

They are not horror stories... Lets back off the scare tactics here...

The biggest issue I had was the height of the edges of the hood, which seems to be consistent with every one. Its almost like they took a factory hood and put a cover over it with the cowl, and then molded it from there so it sits up like a 1/8" or so from the fenders. Not a big deal if you get the sides painted good, you'll hardly notice. Also my safety latch didn't fit when I would close it, but that could have been due to other part alignment issues.

Either way if you get the HD hood that uses the stock latches it will fit but expect to still have to do some work to tweak it properly, as well as possibly some repair work when it arrives. No matter how well its packaged anytime any shipping company touches a fiberglass part you'll end up with a crack somewhere, or a chip on the corner.

Bottom line on this hood... If you think your going to save weight with it you wont... If you just want a cowl, its almost wiser to cut out your stock hood and mold one in PROPERLY so it wont crack, and that will net you a nice one off deal that fits like a glove.

I was actually thinking of doing this to replace my US-body one, Just gotta find a good donor hood.

You selling the US Body one? Pink/gray would be a sweet combo...

I have no idea, and I haven't even decided what I'm really going to do quite yet. This is just all ideas I have. I don't even have a stock hood in good shape to start with.
