STALLS WHEN HIGH RPM'S

Hi,

When i'm going up to 3000 RPM or over and then stop at a traffic light or in a parking, the car stalls and no way to start it again,it stops as soon as i shift to DRIVE position.

I need to wait about 10 minutes and then it's ok.

This does not happen when i'm not going more than 3000 or 3500 RPM.

Somebody told me to disconnect something attaches to the gearbox....any ideas??

More info. Year, Engine, Transmission?

There is something with the 93 and older MPFI engines/3t60 auto transmissions that can be fixed by unplugging the TCC module I think? Not the expert on those though. (TCC is the Torque Converter Control or something like that) Basically disables Torque lock from what I understand if unplugged. I could be way off though.

A 94 does not have a 3t40 and the TCC problem is not an issue with the 4t60e.

Something else is wrong then maybe. What happens when you try to start the car before 10 minutes has passed? Does it crank, does it stumble, etc?

And are you able to duplicate this regardless if the engine is hot or cold?

And it only happens while its in drive, or are you able to make this happen regardless what gear the transmission is in?

I would be more willing to bet its a fuel delivery issue. Not getting enough fuel to the engine, or a clog in the fuel system that acts up when the flow of fuel increases....

Well,i'm FRENCH and don't understand everything you're askong me,sorry....

When engine hot (highway or exceed 3000 RPM) when i stop, car stalls.

I can start it in P position but as soon as i shift into D it stalls immediatly.I have to wait about 10 minutes, can start in P,shift to D and everything's ok....car runs fine.

This never happens ever since i do not exceed 3000 RPM,that means when i'm driving cool...

Not sure what else to suggest. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.

Quite possibly the Crank position sensor, It's on the back of the block. When they get hot the ignition gets cranky and wont start... Hence the cool down period you need in order to start it after it stalls.

As i said, somebody told me to disconnect a connector located on the tranny.I found 2 connectors,i disconnected the 1st and had no speed gauges anymore.I disconnected the other one,car ran fine, but did not try to drive it in fear to break down...

Also as told you do NOT have that transmission or the possibility of that issue, so you unplugged the ELECTRICAL SHIFTING controls of the transmission. In other words, plug it back in, that's not the problem your having.

And beroutofjtown its a 3100 not a 3.1

Also 10-15 min is enough to cool down a crank sensor if its on its way out... They will get worse yes.

You have one of two issues... Fuel, or Spark... And one is not affected by engine heat... so that would leave spark. You need to check the Crank Sensor, the ICM, and the coils to ensure that they are all working as they should. Also in that 10 min time period, I would check to see if your getting any spark while trying to start the engine.

When i'm coming to a traffic light or a stop sign,i feel like the car does not shift down, then it stalls.I can immediatly start it again but only in P position. As soon as i shift to D or 2 or 1 it stalls.I can do this 3 or 4 times,it's always the same. After waiting about 10 minutes,i can start in P,shift to D and everything's ok...

So,this can not be a fuel or spark problem,to my mind..
