Z26 front bumper air splitter

Like three years ago remember reading that someone made a air splitter to screw onto the z26 front bumpers... To fix the sag in the front bumpers. Unless someone has another fix for the sag?

Repair the stock supports and add in a aluminum strip on the underside of the front lip. That's all I did to mine. Granted should have done it as soon as I got it back rather than after I noticed the urethane repair starting to crack again.

Or you can use a Mustang Mach 1 lip, those will fit on, but create quite the curb finder.

I didn't "repair" my bumper... I had my cousin fix the small tear in mine, but since my supports were still there I did nothing else. I really should have pop riveted in the strip of aluminum I did later MUCH earlier. So really my repair is simple to the extreme and shouldn't be on the home page. Anyone who's done a much more in-depth repair of a more damaged lip may be more applicable though.

I guess i read your post wrong, I was talking about that aluminum strip, i never even tought of that. Did you just go under the bottom lip, or under the supports. Guess thats what im askin for.

I used thin strips of steel bent in a C shape to tie the lower lip to the upper bumper. Because there thin, they hide behind the splitters under there and you cant tell(except for the screw heads)

My small strip goes directly against the bumper urethane, its wedged between that and the existing plastic support, Its then pop riveted on either side and once in the middle to hold it all together. As noted mine was for minimal cracking since all my vertical supports are still 100% there. Others have those broken off which need to be replaced/repaired.

Mach 1 lip won't work for you but you can use the gtu/Indy lip on that bumper

I built this to help with the lip sag. Its all 3/8" square tubing. I was able to stand on it and not bend it. And, when its installed, it looks stock inside the lip.

This pics were taken when i did the final adjustment to it. Before i swapped on the red bumper, it was supporting my orginal bumper cover. The new bumper cover i put on was mint, and the bracket perfect and there was no sag, so im not even using that bracket right now. It screws into the back of the steel bumper reinforcement and the front lip orginal support is cut to fit around the custom bracket and just hangs there, no need to bolt the lip to the support. ;)

Geoff, do you have measurements for it? I'd like to make one too, and measurements would save some time.
