Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a beretta aluminium jack shaft (see attached picture). I think they were on 88-89 beretta (5 speeds - maybe other year too). If anybody have one, I'm interested. PM or reply here.

hrmm, that's going to be hard to find. They are very desired to prevent torque steer but at the same time are somewhat hit or miss on some cars.

He's got a point though hit up car-part for the transmission and see if you can find any place that has the jackshaft still on it and is willing to part with it.

What is all the rage with these? The ONLY good I see about them is for 3500 swaps when you need a reference for alignment for making a custom jackshaft bracket. These shafts use a weak aluminum bracket to attach to the motor, and IIRC a smaller ID shaft. I already broke a normal jackshaft bracket, and thats steel.

But I had 2 that sold for good money so Ill keep looking for them!

I know erich and i yanked one of these things a few years ago in Harry's U pull It. i don't know if he still has it or not. That's an interesting piece but they do like to break.

Un-even length axles makes for one hell of a torque steer setup. Also an axle that long is just asking to die with a lot of power.

That's what I've been told but I could be wrong... I do roll only an Auto FWD... my 5-speed powers all 4 tires...

My reply was for the reply before you actually. You are totally right about the un-even length axles creating crazy torque steer

I do have an half shaft already, it's just that i've heard that this one help torque steer even more, for some reason...

Good luck with the search though. Make Barry go to Harry's in PA since they typically have lots of Beretta stuff.

I have one but it needs to be welded.

Well, I welded aluminum for years as a job, and I would still have someone else do it. Just because it needs to be right. Only reason Im not using it is because its broke. So any weld shop could probably do it up right for you, but it needs to be done on a turn table.
