I have a feeling that i am going to be rebuilding my trans soon - 1-2 shift is not right since putting in my engine. I might be jumping the gun and not giving it time to work out bugs, but does someone have a rebuild manual that they want to get rid of/no longer use or maybe an electronic copy??? I'm not expecting a freebie, and i know that they are only about $25 from what i found, but looking for something to thumb through to see if this is something i want to tackle.

why not 5 speed swap? find a 5 speed 90 cavi 4 cylinder and tear the swap out. it bolts in.

Ron likes his Auto, ive talked to him in the past about a 5spd swap and he just wanted to keep the auto. Driving in Las Vegas traffic everyday with a 5spd is not fun.

Shifting a manual trans , big city or not , just becomes second nature and you hardly realize you're doing it after awhile. I've driven manual tranny's in more than a few "big cities". But if Ron's preference is Auto, I get it.

I have factory manuals for the Beretta Ron. I'll see about getting you a scan of the transmission section.

I have to agree on the whole you don't notice how much you shift thing....

But otherwise, did you adjust the TV cable, Ron?

I did adjust the cable this morning - no change. I think i need a third hand to do the adjustment correctly though, so what i did may not have changed it at all.

I did notice that at slower speeds (around my neighborhood, not getting on it at all) it feels great and seems to shift as it should with no slippage. Its when i get out and drive it in traffic that it feels like mush.

You should basically adjust the cable as tight as it should go, then slowly go to WOT, then it should "click" to where it needs to be.

Thanks Cliff...i had in fact did it backwards this morning and when i did it tonight....BINGO!!! Shifts like i remember it shifting and i am a very happy man right now!!!
