Rear Spring Insulators/Bump Stops

Post by kfainf »

Hey gang. Anyone have a source for new rear spring insulators for a '93 GT? I especially need the lower ones with the bump stops. I have searched at all the usual parts stores, including Rock Auto and GM Direct, but have found nothing available. Thanks for any info you might have.

I got this number from the direct catalog for a 93

22569455

Cliff is this a valid number for that part? I know GM doesn't sell it anymore but does VPI have them?

That's the right number for the uppers...

As for the lower, it's like this...

14089790 (Exc FE7, Exc Z08)
22539041 (FE3 w/Z08)
22539040 (FE7)

I wonder what the difference is with the Z08 (convertible) ones?

He asked for the lowers with the bump stops... BUT unless the years were different, my 95+ both had the bumps on the top insulator, not the bottom.

Whats the year brackets on those parts because the rear axle changed alot for 95+ especially regarding the lower spring area... is that the 14089790 number?

Pre 95 bump stops are on bottom.

While your in there sand off the rust and re paint the area under the insulators. It's a serious rust area

Anything new on this. I'm In the market for some for a 91. I ran all those numbers in VPI "There is no product that matches the search criteria."

probably better off using Energy suspension universal ones... that is if you can bolt them somewhere.

Ok, you have two choices... GMParts Direct or VPI and Neither list it... So your SOL you need to go custom, this isn't hard to figure out unless you want a JY item.
