Do you have a PCV valve or a PCV breather (little cone looking filter)? Is it very light smoke?

SOUNDS like a pcv valve or filter blowby. I would really check or ANY type of leaks though from the valve covers (covers over the heads), intakes (on top of the engine betweet the cylinder heads),radiator, hoses, oil pan, etc. Your pcv valve/filter plugs into a quarter sized hole in your front valve cover. Should be a plastic hose coming off it or not if you have the little fram style filter like I do. This:

he said 94 Z26. I know what your talking about, mine does the same thing. at least it did until my lower Rad hose popped all the way. check your coolant hoses. mine was the original 1988 hose! they should be replaced at 100,000 mi.
