i got the 3400. its out of a 2000 grand am gt i beleive. 61000 miles on it for $550, anyway i have one more question i only glanced over the motor i had to drop it off at the garage i didnt get time to tinker with it yet today. anyway i noticed there are two brass colored lines runing along both sides i would imagine it would be some kind of pollution control. i would imagine i just delete them because to my knowlege my beretta doesnt have them. anyway. i hope to have pictures of the swap. i'll keep you guys posted on my progress. on this thread. thanks for all the help already.

do they go into the heads or something? It's probably a california car then, that's the AIR system.. Going to have to take that stuff off and put plugs in the holes..
I can't remember what board it was on, v6z24, or 60degreev6, but someone had pics and there were comments on how to remove it.

yep they go to the heads...ummm im just going to plug the holes with bolts of the same size. i mean most woudn't even notice such a thing they would very much resemble a head bolt if you didnt know what you were looking at. anyway i have started the 3100 is almost out. no serious setbacks yet hopefully everything goes as planned and the new motor should be in maybe not running but it should at least be in tomorrow.

I made a set of plugs that left the setup flush in the runner when installed. Its not a big deal. I can't remember the thread but i also deleted my engine dir on my webspace, so I may re post some pics later of the studs I made.

that'ld be great i'ld like to see how it looks. looks like rains keeping me from doing much work today. so im trying to wait it out. anyone have any suggestions on the last tranny bolt towards the firewall.it almost looks like i need a huge extention and go threw the passenger side wheelwell to reach between the tranny and motor again i didnt get to actually get to it because of the rain. i wish the garage bay was open but my best friend has his s10 in there doing a 305 swap lol. damn setbacks. other then that things are running very smoothly.

Hit the nail on the head for the extension needed for that last tranny bolt... I used 2 14" extensions... I think.
I'll find the pics and repost them.

You need a 2ft or 4ft extension(s) through the passenger side to get to it. (not sure which it is, but you need long!) That is the easiest way. Otherwise it's a PITA. BTW they call this the "***** bolt".

its a 96 beretta base...yes the 305 IS a waste, should be a 350 anyway thats what he had so thats what he'll use. motors out started swapping the fuel rail and such. im not going to be able to do any work on it till monday now. stupid work hours.hopefully monday night or tuesday moring i have a running 3400 beretta. and im pretty sure the cali cars are plentiful because u can now buy a cali emmisions car here brand new. i dont know why but thats the truth i just saw a mustang gt on a  lot with cali emisions on it. or at least thats what the options list said.there's no power decrease with that is there??? i mean it shouldn't if im deleteing it.

there is a power decrease, because you have another part being run by a belt... air pumps will add drag to the belt setup taking away a few ponies.

Of course for your swap, just re-use your old pulley system setup, or remove enough stuff until it looks like yours. (bye bye air pump). Don't forget to cut off that one stud though on the new timing cover.
www.3400swap.com explains it better.

well its back in the shop today... getting ready to swap the parts over this morning plug my holes for that smog garbage, cut that timing cover stud. and hopefully have it prepped for dropping in this afternoon. wish me luck guys. maybe i'll have a running 3400 beretta by tonight...
the only question is what to do next, im gonna almost surely need a new suspension since i already have a bad strut. then paint. how does z26/gtz ground effects. (or at least a body kit similiar) black with maybe grabber green camaro ss racing stripes?? what do u guys think.

Black with grabber green has rice written all over it... try something a little more conservative...
I love it when I rev next to a ricer, he laughs at my base and I walk him with no effort... that’s a true victory... Sleeper all the way.
