He had me tuning this car, or at least attempting to since I had to mail an ECU back and forth... I just sent him a set of injectors last week along with his ECU back hoping to correct his problem of it not going over 4k without it breaking up badly... I was never able to get a solid scan from him so I could not troubleshoot his issue effectively, he just kept replacing parts that probably didn't need to be. I kept telling him it was either a fueling or spark issue that he had.

He also has my spare 97 ECU that had a half tune on it and he hasn't responded to my txt inquiring about it's return yet, so needless to say I'm a bit disappointed in that aspect of things, and I have no idea what state the car is in, but if its how it was a week ago its a project that's going to need quite a bit of work to get it running right.

We could pool money, buy it, and get parts off of that we need. I've been looking for a 3500 anyways; and you could have your ECM back.

LOL, Jon just sent me a text regarding my ECU and that's square now... he also stated he hasn't gotten any offers on the car either.

Geoff if you really want a 3500 let me know, there are tons around here.

I can get them here for around $400, so that's not an issue.

Garage space is, so I'm working on it.

But that doesn't mean I can't horde parts like nobody's business!

As Ben said on 60* regarding tuning...
SappySE107 wrote:I think the hardest part of tuning is making sure the physical bits are all as they are supposed to be
And that's hard to do from CT...

That's not a physical bit... The mechanical parts are... something is not right somewhere and I'm just not there to check it over.

There is nothing wrong with the tune, it should run fine with what's on that ECU, you have something else preventing it from running right, and possibly scans with the new software will point in the direction of whats wrong.

When we 3400 swapped my friends cavalier, we were having similar issues. We tracked it down to a poor connection on one of the injector wires when he soldered the new injector harness in.

is it still auto? I had something similar on my car. It was the Transmission range switch(?) well my trans didn't know if I was in Park or in drive so It would act like a cut-off at the rpm that was set for the park-neutral rev limit ( 4000rpm I think.)
