Hey, i was wondering if any of you know where to get flat top pistons for a Vin"T" 3.1 other than the insanely priced mantapart.com any place would be fine as long as they are not outragously priced.

You should just be able to use flat-top pistons from a RWD engine.

What crazy wild thing are you doing that requires them? Consider STOCK 3.1 pistons have taken 300+WHP and 400+TQ with no problem at all...

He's looking for higher comp. I can only assume. That would be the best way to do it. Unless you want deck the heads too.

heads have been cut and i understand that the pistons are decent but i think a little more compression would be nice so it would be naturally aspirated without going over the top. so does any one know where i can get flat tops or no.

Did you even check over at
http://www.60degreev6.com like the others suggested? I would be surprised if someone didn't know there.
If i remember right, you might be able to use the stock pistons from a 90-92 Camaro or Firebird V6.

I know people with Quad 4's can get a made to order set for roughly 520 a set, but that is a Q4. Maybe another 200-300 and you can too? Let your fingers do the talking.

did some research and the camaro pistons should work as long as the valve clearance is all kosher. will keep posting as i go along with this idea

The iron-head camaro head gaskets will work to raise the compression as well. However keep an eye on that clearance because they are thinner.

the problem is that the aluminum gaskets allow for different expansion rates because the block is cast iron and the heads are aluminum so i could run into problem with doing that such as a leaky gasket or just blow it out. but it is a good idea. this car has to remain to be a daily driver and still has to pass emissions so it needs to be extremely reliable.
