so me and my buddy went to the junkyard, of course i looked for beretta's and he looked for his jeep parts, niether of us found anything, so we wondered over to the dodge section and while browsing around in there i came accross a dodge neon r/t 5spd, and noticed the bushings for the shift cables are exactly the same as our bushings, so for those of you with bad bushings that cant seem to find any other then buying new, heres another option, idk if this is a new find or already known, but i never knew it..

That's old news Speedy. VERY old news. When you order new Booger bushings for the Getrags, you always pick up the SRT set.

Just curious, what bushings are you talking about? This is my first 5 speed Beretta.. is this the selector cable bushing? Mine is a bit sloppy because I had to rig something up for that.

Yes, it's a set of bushings. One for each end of the two shift cables on the trans arm , and two for the shifter end. If combined with the Rodney Dickman shifter pivot bushing it makes everything MUCH tighter again.

So I should pick up that set on the top of the link you posted even though it says not SET? And it will fit? If so I'm definitely getting it because I have been trying to find a exact bushing that will fit for quite awhile lol.

Yes it's a direct fit.
Thought for sure we went over this in another topic.
I smell another write up SGR. A good over view with some tech.
Forgot about the Rodney Dickman parts. Well I do have an auto and have never had a stick.

I'm not on here much and must have missed the topic.
What's confusing me is that SGR says to always pick up the SRT set, but the first thing listed on that page says fits all except SRT.. so I'm hoping that the first set is right I guess

Well if you don't feel sure contact them, tell them what you have and ask them what to use.

That's the plan for Monday. Hopefully SGR will post before then.

Shawn, you want the 2nd set down, but I notice he's finally started listing the GM half set in the bottom pair. It's the 5th set down. Order that one for your shifter cables on the trans end.
MPB: I'll be doing my full set as well as the RD parts on mine by summer's end. I'll likely do a writeup. Mine's shifting fine and pretty tight, but it never hurts to upgrade!

A write up would be nice. I got a couple pairs of these bushings in the boxes of stuff from the guy that had the yellow GTZ in Ann Arbor. Didn't come with no directions though.

It's actually pretty straightforward on the trans end. The shifter end is a TAD more particular. I will get to one, I'm sure. I'll post it up when I do it.

Glad that you are going to do a write up. Seems like every few months someone is asking about this.

What ever happened to this write up?
