Got a few questions here about chipping the retta. I'm looking for a good chip that will increase the HP and torque on the car. I was wondering if just unplugging the old chip and putting the new one in is all I have to do, or do I need to do something else after the chip is installed.

Thanks

Depends on the year what is available.  OBD-l or ll?

It's a 90 norm, so the chip is easily replaced.

Check out 60degreev6/store they have what you need!

Don't expect big gains, but a small gain can be felt. Did you get your vacuum/coolant problem fixed? I'd do that first! lol

It would cool to do the CAI, UDP, & Chip all at one time.

Yah I had the whole car checked for gasket leaks. The gaskets are fine, but I have a small leak in my rad that is evaporating. I had a motor vac done to the car, and the car is running alot better. I'm seeing a difference in the take off. It definately has more juice to her now. There is also no vacuum leaks. I was told it was the EGR, and that motor fac seems to have cleaned it up.

So to put a chip in the car, what kind of gains via torque and hp will I gain? I'm I looking at a gain of 20hp to the car?

i helped write the chip for these engines, you're looking at a 10-15hp ish increase on a stock engine.

What is a motor vac? de-carbonize the engine?

If I had that car and wanted to make it fast without turbo or 5/speed swap (do you have 5spd?)
I'd:
Get a second car to drive.
Put a cam in.
Put gen3 heads/intake manifolds (maybe P&P them first)
Put on the UDP
Get 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust all the way back with a high flow CAT and straight though muffler.
Get the chip made with all your mod specifications.

Enjoy the power! You'd have quite the potent 3.1!!!!

Definately looks like something i'd love to do. However, in my current situation it's hard to find time to get the car done. Plus I'd need a place to keep the car while driving another car. I might just grab up the chip for now, even though I'd love to do the intake and head.

UDP pulley swap takes like a half an hour.

How much gained would I get out of changing the pulley ?
