Broken spark plug !GOT IT!
Re: Broken spark plug
I've never used anti-seize and never had a problem. And these engines WILL blow out a spark plug - been there, done that. I also never have torqued spark plugs but have rather followed installation instructions. I believe with the tapered plug it's seat the taper plus a 1/16th of a turn.

Re: Broken spark plug
spec torque for a spark plug is
Initial Install - 15FT Lbs
After Initial Install 11FT Lbs.
I'm guessing that means if your re-using the plug you only go to 11... That's if I'm reading that correctly.

Re: Broken spark plug
I've used anti seize on, literally, thousands of plugs in my lifetime. Never had an issue yet.

Got it out! WHEW!!! Now I'm deciding on the anti-seize. I used it on the front plugs. I'll leave it off the rear plugs and in a few years I'll pull them and see what happens.
Thanks for all the help and advice!!

Glad to hear that you got it out with no trouble. Still say you should use anti-seize on the rear.

Unless you are as stupid as a stick, use the anti-seize.
Any time different metals meet USE ANTI-SEIZE!
Is that so hard to understand?
Not so much as to compromise torque specs, but you can get lipstick style sticks and apply a bit.
As you turn in the fastener it spreads out along the threads. It doesn't take very much at all!
WHY do you want to walk into this headache again?

Re: Broken spark plug !GOT IT!
Agreed. Why would you set yourself up for failure and a broken plug after you just went through this fiasco? I would think it would be painfully obvious at this point.... and you decided, of all things, that the hard to access rear plugs were the best test case idea for not using it?
I'm rather astounded....

Sorry for the confusion, but I meant that as a joke! I used the ant seize on the rear plugs.

Oh, hard to tell by just looking at a post. Some people are crazy and you just never know what they will do.
