Re: NE 2011
i figured as much with the speedway. still a cool idea none the less.
road rally sounds cool. and the mt washington sounds like a fun time. something i want to do someday anyway, plus i could get one of my car climbed mt washington stickers.

Re: NE 2011
I'd much rather drag race, but maybe that's just me...
Englishtown would be awesome!

It's in the itinary... I'm confused.woody90gtz wrote:I'd much rather drag race, but maybe that's just me...

Being that the Dragway is a Saturday test and tune, that means we are there with a large event, or standard bracket racing, so we can expect a well prepped track... It's how I got my 12.67. It also gives us something to watch and we are spread out throughout the day as far as run times so we will get a break between runs.Saturday
o Car People: Test & Tune @ Epping (8am -5pm)
As said before, even for Nationals... If you want a location don't just shout out a track or city... I was asked to take over planning for this event, I posted up a location with a itinary... Now I need feedback on it, Possible attendees; preferred weekend? and so on.
If I don't get enough interest in two weeks I will not be going through with this.

Re: NE 2011
either weekends fine with me.
itinerary seems fine. there's a day of racing then the rest is fun time filler or what ever you want to call it.

Re: NE 2011
crap, I looked right past that post. I was reading Amy's. Sounds good to me. Either week should be ok for me, but the latter would be better for Tiffwad. We'll be in Vegas Sept 3-7 and she always has trouble getting two weekends off in a row.

Re: NE 2011
Ok, I'll start a new thread that doesn't need approvals to spread the word, and get an interested party list.

The Lee Speedway thing would be just a spectator event for us. It's an oval track with a few different divisions...usually makes for a pretty good show. They have concessions and beer, so it’s a decent place to make a night out of. Jon works at a comparable track down here in CT, so I would need to do a little further investigating, but for little higher of a price, you can get into the pits and check out all the cars and their transport rigs and such.
The road rally is something I've done at British car events in the past. A general way of how it would work is everyone gets a set of driving instructions and a set time to start (usually each car starts 5 minutes apart); your odometer reading is also recorded when you depart. Intermingled in the road directions are scavenger hunt-style clues. As you drive the directions, you and your passenger need to keep your eyes peeled for the answers to the scavenger hunt clues. The objective is to get the scavenger hunt questions correct in the lowest amount of time and traveling the least miles. It is on roads, so speeding and such is taken at the drivers own risk.
One more thing that sounds pretty interesting is the potential for a cruise to the top of Mount Washington. I just found out today from a close friend (ironic, huh?) that Mount Washington does special sunrise and sunset drives to the peak of the mountain. It is a beautiful drive to get there, and the views from the top are amazing. Just something else that might make its way onto the itinerary!
don't we have a rule about sharing accounts? lol
Re: NE 2011
I may talk to some people, not too sure if I can make the national meet as I have weddings and such to attend, but wanted to talk to some easterners about having a get together so we shall see.

Re: NE 2011
I was kicking around this idea myself, unless I get a semi-decent stable job in the next couple of months we won't be at the national again this year.

There is NOT a track in the area, but there IS a million things to do and see that we could very easily fill three days and not miss the idea.MY91GT(Z) wrote:Ill be getting my enhanced licenses so sounds good to me if their is a track there too
Let me think about it a bit.
